Was just testing to make sure that the AL Priority w/Sti-R Plus integration was as fast as the Escort Redline RDR/BS and I am very satisfied with everything I have seen to date. I did not have a stop watch but these were extremely fast I/O shots and the integration did extremely well.

Also, Wanted to make sure POP detection worked and both the Redline and Sti-R Plus had no issue detecting POP from the BEE III.

You're pretty darn quick with that trigger Tom.....and the Plus has the response time of a cat.
I'm surprised the RedLine missed a couple but it can happen, I wouldn't be concerned though as the MPH will not flash a speed under that time frame unless it was actually in POP mode.
Yes, There seems to be a slight delay on Radar alerts through the Bluetooth module. I dont find any delay on the Laser Side of the ALP Connect app though.Quote:

Longest delay on a KA I have had is 2.34second with the ALP non segmented. Since they don't run KA in my area it something I have not setup the feature but I'll test it out. K preformence is quite good.

I have never seen a long delay. You can see from the many videos I have posted the difference in the alert times. The Sti-R Plus seems to be quicker at picking up I/O shots but the ALP Connection App slightly lags in its alert. If you watch the video you will see exactly what I mean where in the first I/O shot the Redline alerts slightly quicker when they both detect the shot.Quote:

You can quiet it down with TSR ON just like the Redline but it will slow down its reactivity. Once it gets Auto Mute it will be much more bearable and once GPS antenna is connected you can have it ignore both radar and laser alerts under a preset speed.Quote:

I have never seen a long lag like this and you can see that from any of the videos I posted. Slight delay but nothing like in your video. One thing I did notice is that you have the Sti-R Plus antenna facing forward and the Redline antenna is in the rear. Try turning the Sti-R Plus antenna facing away from you because you might be over driving the antenna being so close and aiming directly into the horn.Quote:

I say the lag is between the BT device and the software.
Fire gun ---- rd figures out that it was hit, sends data to bt mod, bt then sends a packet to the mobile, the software then needs to understand what its being told and load up the correct alert.
To be honest, I say the lag is in the BT to software stage.
You have 3 cpus with ALP, the sti cpu, the bt cpu and then phones vs the 1 cpu in the redline.
Naturally there will be some lag but 2.4 seconds is a bit too long IMO.
Maybe we need a Android version to come out... ;)
Thanks for your comments! The STI-R radar antenna is somewhat slower to react then V1, you can make it faster by disabling all Ka segments except the one you need. RDR/TSR OFF is also a Must to reduce delay.
If you have a Bel STIR control unit you can test your STI-R antenna with it and it should have almost the same delay (Bands & filters setup the same off course) as over the ALPConnect.
The main goal of the small test was to see how they all preformed on a sorta level playing ground, with no tweaks.
Yes, next time they wont be placed as close together as there was a small bit of chatter between the RD's, also I will enable segmentation and the other features and compare again. K is the only band used in my area that I live so as long as it preforms well on that band, I'm a happy man.
One question that I have about the STI-R+ Head, it has a IR receiver in it, is this in anyway communicated to the ALP CPU as it would help determine it final mounting location on my car.

Why is the IR sensor in the Sti not used? At least in theory, it would add more receiving protection (receiving power of three heads) on the front. Is this in the cards for the future, or just impossible to integrate?

The receiver in the Sti-R Plus is no where near as sensitive as the ALP and its not designed to capture any pulse information other than send an alert message if it detects something. It would only add false alerts and not be beneficial. The Sti-R Plus integration is only to add Radar to the already best laser defense system.Quote:
