Just did the update, six minutes and all is good!
Update went well here too! Voice pack took a couple min like you said. Thanks for the heads up about that needing to be done. I love that the "Active!" can be removed now. My future passengers and I thank you. ;)
Same here : all fine ...time to prepare a coffee and voilà.
I did'nt have to reset my setup.
Thanks Tom and Alp Team.
Tom can you elaborate in which way it is now more effective , due the Tx shoot out findings.
yep all good here :encouragement:
Did factory reset & loaded all 3 files. Control * Setup * Firmware. All went GREAT!
Another +1 for the update.
I put all 3 files on USB and it did voicepack, firmware then reboot itself and went to blue mode, didnt get the saving files like normal for the setup but it seems to have loaded them.
Good here also, look forward to test this Sunday in Atlanta.
Hello Tom
Thanks for keeping things current
Excellent customer service and product support, as usual.
My question ..
I have not updated since 12-22-14
When bringing my ALP (with Hi fi) up to date should I install every update in sequence, or will installing the latest update include those I have not done?
Take care
Ed
All manufactures should.
I updated everything a few hours ago... one puzzle. I have it setup silent startup. When it finally goes into defense mode (much longer than before... seems like maybe a minute) it makes a little drum beat sort of sound... but as I drove it did the little drum noise again another minute after that.. not sure what that was about.
Did you enable skip first warm up? That would probably be your minute delay
Well there appears to be 2 - 1 minute delays. I did not change anything other than use defaults, silent startup. After 1 minute, the light goes purple and does that drum beat... then another minute - another drum beat. I was already driving down the road when I heard the second one and thought... what is that?
I have it recorded on dash cam audio.
For the record, that double-init issue I had the other day has not occurred again. Must of been some glitch.
A couple comments on the new update.
After updating, when I press both buttons on the hifi control set, I no longer go into menu mode. Nothing happens. I've tried short presses of both buttons and long presses of both buttons. Even tried short and long presses of each button individually. I can't seem to get into the menu options any more. Anyone else experience this, or perhaps I am doing something wrong?
Second comment is do most people perform the self test at startup? I have always turned it off, but wonder now if that is a best practice.
Sorry, I should have stated that I was trying to adjust the volume. When I put the setup file on the USB, I set the volume to 5. This is way too loud, so I wanted to adjust down to 4 or possibly 3. I can't do this with the control set. My bad, I thought both buttons also got you into the menu. I'm still new to the Hi-Fi as I previously only used the BT module.
Even still, holding the menu button won't put me into the menu. The light flashes on the hi-fi control set, but the buttons don't seem to do anything.
I gave it a try over lunch to confirm and pressing the buttons no longer works on the hi-fi control set following the update. Can I rollback the change and apply again? I reinserted my USB that I updated with a couple days ago and all it did was reload the setup file (I Have a parking mode only setup that I can plug in when needed), but did not reapply the firmware. Any help is appreciated.
I did download and apply the ucsthifi.bin file. I think I know what the problem may be, and will have to test it after work today. I use the same USB stick for all my ALP files. I had both the original control set file and the ucsthifi.bin files loaded on the stick. I wonder if having both files on the USB stick caused some confusion. I re-downloaded my firmware, ucsthifi.bin, voicepck.alp, and setup.alp files and deleted the old control set file. I'll let you know if this solves the problem.
not to hijack, done the new f/w np, running apple and bt, got hit with laser and it lists ur speed and time, never noticed before
ok thx seen a lot of rd, must have missed the laser, dont run with the plus now ,so only get laser hits now
I did the update again just now with a freshly downloaded set of files and still the buttons on the hi-fi control set don't work. The led light continues to blink, parking sensors work, laser defense works, just the control set buttons don't. Any suggestions?
Sure thing. I sent a PM with the video.
BRD, as CommandrKeen asked, what's the advantage of performing the warmup at startup? What exactly does it do -- is it just a self-test?
New Update is getting ready to be rolled out. It will take 24-48 hours for everyone's unit to be activated for this update. Please try to wait for the update email informing you that the update is ready for you.

Outstanding ongoing technological advancements...cutting edge :thumb:
IMPORTANT thing to note about new update is that there is again improved self-test diagnostics to try to inform you of issues before they occur.
After this update the he System will notify you if it's hardware configuration has never been memorized. If after uploading the new firmware the System alerts you with fast beeps in the first 5 seconds of operation and with a constant red LED light, once the alert has finished you will need to Reset to factory defaults and memorize sensors:
• Long press MENU to enter Yellow menu
• Press NEXT five times (5)
• Press ENTER.
• Then reprogram your System to your desired configuration with your own setup.alp file.
• After doing this you may Count sensors to check if the correct number of sensors has been memorized:
• Long press MENU to enter Yellow menu
• Press NEXT six times (6)
• Press ENTER.
• The System will let you know the number of connected sensors.
Will the updated ALP connect App for Apple be available Monday as well?
Please pardon my ignorance if i missed something, I am checking the alpupdate website for the new firmware 6/17/15 and unable to locate it. I see only the 6/5/15 firmware. Thanks for your help in advance.
Not sure where you are looking but I see it very clear under the firmware tab.
