Yeah I did all files at once too and had to spend a bit of time playing with it to get it to stay on afterwards. My issues could likely have been user error, but doing the files separately could help reduce the chances for that to happen to others.

When you do the control set do you need to manually edit the name of the file to say ".bin" at the end of it ?
No , the downloaded file is already with the correct end.
see the page :http://www.alpupdate.com/Firmware
'' NOTE: This file must be named UCSTHIFI.BIN for ALP system to recognize it.''
'' When updating the HiFi Control Set Firmware BE SURE
to plug in the USB drive with UCSTHIFI.BIN file AND switch your ALP System OFF
and back ON, for the update to work! HiFi Control Set update is required for AL PriorityŽ systems
equipped with HiFi Control Set (voice output) running firmware version 4.5.2 or later.''
I would re-phrase it this way:
System being OFF :
1) Connect physically the Hifi Control to the CPU
2) Place the UCSTHIFI.BIN + the voice pack (male or female) VOICEPCK.ALP on the usb
3) Insert the usb key to CPU
4) Fire ON the system
Pretty much what I did, and it's working fine. I installed the new control set and speaker before uploading the new firmware and voice pack. The longest part is uploading the files from your flash drive to the control set and CPU. Let it do its thing; i.e. don't turn it off, and you should be good to go.
Just tested a brand new unit with no updates and loaded all files on the one drive and there are no issues loading all files at once. It takes around 5 minutes for all files to load and get updated.
Drive included:
Attachment 3242
IMPORTANT: Please START YOUR VEHICLE or be in a power setting where your vehicle power will not cut the ignition power off or you could loose power during the update which would cause issues since the process takes over 5 minutes to load and update all of the files. In my car in accessory power after a few minutes if the car is not started accessory power will turn off. If your vehicle does the same then start the vehicle to make sure you will not have a power loss during the update.

So then the only other file I would have on my USB stick is the key file because I run in privacy mode? If so, that would be a total of 5 files.
Are there instructions on how to change settings in Laser Interference Mode? I want to run with detailed voice pak files so I know what gun I'm getting hit with.
OK so its my turn LoL, Did what i was suppose to down loaded the new files and went out and got the first start up beeps and then the 1 led started flashing blue green adn the one on the C/S was flashing blue yellow? So i un hooked it and plugged the B/T Module back in and fired it up and it worked so then i went back to the HiFI and now all it does if flash the colors as i listed above.
Help:help:
EDIT: I just left it on in the car with the USB hanging out and when i got back out there is was done, Tested it and everything works, Very happy with its sound quality Another Fine product from BRD and ALP..
:o
One question for you Tom ,
for curiosity sake , can we revert to the ''old'' control module once the new firmware ''HIFi'' has been installed ?
My guess is no .
I guess we can revert to the old control module if we re-install the old firmware ...right ?
Could be a good B plan to diagnose a problematic install.
Yeah, 5 minutes feel like an eternity when waiting. I can't tell you how many times in my line of work I've had someone complain that something takes "10 seconds" when it actually took 3 seconds.
Installed mine as well. The update procedure was lengthy but worked out great. I love having the voice, and the speaker is so loud that even burying it in an under seat compartment is still plenty loud at volume 1 or 2.
My only wish/suggestion is that it should still say the gun name after a fast JTK. It seems like if I JTK before the gun announcement happens, it won't happen and will just say "Detection Only"
Yes Tom i watched the video, What threw me was that the LED was flashing different colors then when in your video.... Maybe i missed it in the thread about the colors changing... But i tested it out and everything works, Now i just have to learn the menu for the Key pad since, day one i have had the B/T Mod hooked up..
But i did get a chance to play around with it and raise.. or should i say lower the volume, I was not expecting it to be that loud LoL
Again TOM Thank you for all you do for this community :thumbs2:
Just hooked mine up, took maybe 20 minutes, 15 of those were figuring out where to put the speaker though haha. Ended up using zip ties and mounting it to the bottom of the driver seat. Very clear sound and small package so you can mount it pretty much anywhere. I put all the files on at once and it failed to update the control set, had to remove the firmware file and do it again but that worked. Very pleased with it! Thanks again for the awesome deal BRD
It's amazing what he does for this community. He stepped up to the plate along with AntiLaser and gave us something that will work and keep us protected for the future.
This is the most amazing product. My main complaint was always not having the voice like on LI. Now with this Hifi module I am super excited and pumped to have this great system. The voices are amazingly clear and it's just great.
Tom you are to be commended on a job well done and for delivering this when our community needed it most.
Got mine installed and works perfect! THANKS BRD!
Just been reading over on RDforum.
Some of the members think that CPU V2 will be able to connect both HiFi and ALPconnect and switch between them, probably with another module? Any truth behind that?
Installed and working great!!! It took exactly 5 minutes for programming. Easy to navigate through menus now. Easy to adjust volume also. I have my speaker (inside and behind my dash/can't be seen), and it is plenty loud at level 2 out of 5.
Just installed mine too--very easy but have no idea what my volume is.. I tried pressing the 2 buttons at the same time but it did not give me the volume option---it always said foglights off on auto lol
How do I get to the volume??
I don't think yer pressing hard enough. Hit both at the same time, try making sure you hit power first.
So which 2 buttons do you press??
Power and menu?
Your not pressing and holding both at the time time and there are only 2 buttons on the control set, Press and hold both at the same time.

;) Patience Mirage. *joking*
to Holla:
Yea you aren't holding them in at the same exact time properly Holla. Just keep trying you will get it.
I didn't know how to get to laser menu until I messaged Tom last night. You have to keep holding the menu button until it comes up. The first menu is the basic.
Just let us know if you need help
By the way what is this "fog light" option I have mine turned off?
They are not offered here in the US and they are older G9 heads which would not support the newer guns used here in the US but they are still popular overseas.. Check out this video with a user that has a set of the Fog Light sensors installed:

Are they running off some of the wires? Can I use them to control a relay? XD
