It works fine. Been running it all week.
Yes, You can do anything with the iPhone without service as you could with an iPhone with service. The same Bluetooth module will also work on Android so when the Android app comes out (A few months) I will use Android and resell the iPhone because I will no longer have use for it.
Is there an Android version?
How do I reset the head-unit count from the BT module or do I have to reconnect the default controller?
I want to confirm, if I do not turn on my iPhone BT app and I get hit by a leo there are no counter measures activated right? If that is true, will the event still show up in my stats even though no CM were taken?
You can leave ALP Connect on and walk away from your car and after around 30FT away the connection will break and the system will turn off. Once you get back to your car it will automatically reconnect and you will be armed again. If you do not have the ALP Connect app on then the system if off and you cant capture anything if the system is off.
HI need help. I have had the AL system installed in my car with BT for the past month but since upgrading to the iPhone 6 yesterday it won't connect or will connect then disconnect over and over and over is there a fix to this coming? or anyone else seen this issue ? i don't have a issue connecting BT to my car to play pandora etc so I know the BT on my phone does work. Thanks
As mentioned on other thread I have same or similar problem as ultra310x. My iPhone 5 works perfectly my iPhone 6 disconnects and reconnects. If I stop using Tune2Air device for connecting my iPhone to my car ALP stays connected. But I can't live with a disconnected phone.
It may be an iOS thing, not an app thing. I'm seeing similar disconnects with Escort Live. Apps may need to be updated though to accommodate for whatever changed on iOS 8.
Version 1.6 is out now (installed last night Oz time);

Added new laser definition.
hmm might wait for the ECU replacement :D
is it just a fw or have u gotta do controller
Update notes don't state compatibility with iPhone 6.
This is driving me crazy.
It has to be firmware with the phone as iPhone 5 with iOS 8 had no issues and similar problems with my cars Bluetooth system not having full functionality
Has to be either or both ALP firmware and ALP Connect update to fix
Issue is not on the ALP end. iPhone 6 users in general are having major issues with all bluetooth connected devices. Not sure what apple changed but do some Google changes and there are complaints everywhere with bluetooth devices loosing connection. Same users have no issues with their old phones prior to updating.
I just got ALP and EL installed last week. I have no issues with EL with my iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.02. Haven't connected to the ALP app yet, as my installer forgot to jot down the Bluetooth pin. Going back Monday as I don't have the Torx screwdriver to get behind the dash. Might have to pickup a new screwdriver so I can get back there myself. Will report back once I have everything up and running.
So just a follow up to the ALP Connect and iPhone 6 Plus/iOS 8.02. The App and the phone doesn't want to play together too well. I constantly get connectivity drop outs. On an older iPhone 4 running iOS 8.02 I don't seem to have any issues so far. Hopefully it's an OS fix.
I was hoping to not have so many auxiliary devices in the car. We'll see how it pans out. If I have to pick up a dedicated device it'll probably be an Android so that I can add a V1 to my arsenal! :-)

Agreed. Didn't mean to infer it was the app.

Have you done any validation work to support your claim this is all Apple?
I realize there are many iphone 6 with iOS 8.0x users experiencing bluetooth issues. I personally have zero bluetooth problems with my cars or headset connectivity with my phone on 8.0x and now 8.1 except your device. 8.1 did not fix the issue. My iPhone 5 has no issue with Alp Connect. My iPhone 6 has a single failure mode 100% of the time and it seems to be consistent with other ALP users on iPhone 6.
I think you need to "own the fix" to this problem. At least get past the 'Google search = it's not us' phase. Looking forward to your response if you have in fact done some R&D on this problem.
Signed: iPhone 6 + ALP Connect = no protection
5s works OK changes when u go over ur set limit car turns blue but no speed showing and GPS locked, but not been hit with the real thing but test ok with the little tester and announces the gun, but it is a it worrying
I agree. Ios8.1 has not fixed Bluetooth issues whch cause disconnection occurring and location services to disconnect from the app.
All other Bluetooth issues with my car are now fixed.
That being said, it could still be on Apples side, but it could also be that firmware or App changes need to happen to make it fully compatible with iPhone 6 and iOS.
After all, As part of any Apple changes, Apps need to get updated to fully work with these changes, all developers acknowledge this, and possible this also applies to firmware
I have checked with engineering and they confirmed there is nothing new they need to change specific for the iPhone 6 and latest IOS. The issue is on Apple's end and maybe Apple is trying to fix the BT issues that effected the most users first before they tackle smaller issues like those effecting ALP Connect. If you are having issues please go back to Control Module until apple gets the issue resolved.
People, you need to read what is going on with IOS 8 and bluetooth before pointing fingers. It's not an ALP issue. Like it has been stated, "Google it"..
