Was there a Control Set update as well, or just for the Control Box?
Hy everyone , what do you when you return home after vacations ?
Check what is new ...update is done ...as always a piece of cake :applause:
Tom, Just so i understand, Will i now be able to have the LED stay lit while in defence mode or does it just change it so that when you getting painted the led comes on and stays on instead of flash? I ask because i set it to solid and dim and all i got was a solid blue light when hit with Laser and then it went back off.
Ok yes i have the 4.4.1... Ill try again tomorrow and see if i have any luck, Like i said i did the up date and all that and the light would come on blue for apx 10 seconds and then go off. when i hit it with lidar it went blue and stayed that way until the alert stopped.
OK ill mess with it tomorrow, Ive been up since 4am and im not going to mess with it now or i can promise something will end up broken LoL.. Ill check back with you tomorrow and let you know what i come up with ....
Thank you again Tom. You are a true honest good person, I appreciate you taking the time to help when help is needed.
New Firmware Update Available
Details of the 4.4.2 update (10/21/14)
1. Improved Error signalization.
2. Improved and expanded various LIDAR routines.
3. New Blue Menu
What is a the new Blue Menu?
After you have firmware extended your system to the latest firmware some options can be changed manually over a basic Control Set inside the Blue Menu.
Press MENU and hold as long as LED light turns from Yellow to Blue and you can manually change these blue-menu options:
1. PDC/DLI/LID option setup
Pres MENU/Next once (1) when in a blue menu, then press Enter (LED will turn white when you enter submenu)
Press MENU/Next once, twice, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten times depending on your preference (choose below) then press Enter to activate.
1 – for Parking detection only
2 – for PDC&DLI detection only
3 – for 3 seconds LID defense
4 – for 4 seconds LID defense
5, 6, 7, 8,
9 – for 9 seconds LID defense
10 – for time unlimited LID defense
2. PDC disable
Pres MENU/Next twice (2) when in a blue menu, then press Enter to enable/disable parking detection (PDC)
3. PRO MODE
Press MENU/Next 3 times when in a blue menu, then press Enter to enable/disable PRO MODE
In Pro Mode LED is blinking during LID alert only when being targeted.
4. SKIP WARM-UP
Pres MENU/Next 4 times when in a blue menu, then press Enter to enable/disable Skip first warm up
Don't worry ALP Connect users more functionality will be coming to ALP Connect in the future.
Thanks BRD does this update include fix for the guns that were not jamming well in the RALETC test? It's probably already been fixed. I came late to the show so I am behind. Better late than never I suppose. ;)
Actually I said gunS but I think it was only one gun .
Excellent
Thank you for the fast updates and getting job done for us. We don't have to pull you along you pull us along. I know everyone feels a sense of relief because of this.
If you use options 3-10, what happens to radar detection? Does it remain the same as it was last configured by a configuration file? The email I just got explains things a little bit differently:
Quote:
1 – for Parking detection only (no lidar or radar detection)
2 – for PDC&DLI (parking, lidar & radar detection active)
3 – for 3 seconds LID defense (detection & defense active)
4 – for 4 seconds LID defense (detection & defense active)
5, 6, 7, 8,
9 – for 9 seconds LID defense (detection & defense active)
10 – for time unlimited LID defense (detection & defense active)
I take it that this applies for all options except (1), correct? Or is it actually possible to have it in PDC-only mode on the LIDAR sensor side and radar detection on (which, curiously, is NOT an option when generating setup files)?
And if (1) turns off radar detection altogether, is the setting still "memorized" internally so that when I turned LID/DLI back on, it will detect radar again?
Will have to test it later and confirm. Cant test it at the moment but will do it today if someone does not beat me to it. If you think giving you some cool quick ways to to make changes through the control module is cool you will really like what is planned for ALP Connect in the future.
Received an email from AL announcing the firmware update. They even had a link to some RALETC group that did some recent laser jammer testing. Who is this RALETC group? :D
Question.....The set up,was done at time of install few weeks ago with latest firmware current at install but I did not get a USB . I have downloaded both setup and the just released firmware update to 2 separate drives
Can you use 1 drive for both bin files ( control box and firmware) and the setup file or should you use separate drives, one for the 2 bin files and 1 for the setup?
Thanks
And which would you "run" first
The new firmware then the new setup(changed to dark)
Will the box know which one to load first if it's all on one flash drive? Bin then setup or setup then bin?
If unit was already installed and you are not making any changes you only need the firmware file. If you are changing settings you can put firmware and setup file on the same drive.
Thanks Tom, that was fast
Can every thing be on one drive? And with Bt do I need to "update the control box also?
OK i a stupid question, Normally when i boot up my ALPs my V1 goes off, after the up date it no longer goes off, Came in the house and change a few thing and still nothing, I did check to see if the ALPs are working and it seems like they are.
But is this something i should be concerned about or no?
Iphone shows
connect 1.7
fw 4.4.2
pdc 5.2
After I updated earlier today, probably fourth power up it made a noise I haven't heard before, one very long beep that sounded like the Poliscan tone but 5 or so seconds right on power up BEFORE switching into defence mode.
It seems fine now though.
New Firmware release 4.5.1
This update includes various minor improvements and updates and add support needed for the new ALP Connect Android.
There is also a new Control Set update which fixes some minor issues and increases its reliability.
I am always amazed to upgrade a firmware so easily and reliably ...
many product uggrades become a nightmare in one way or another .
Kudos to Alp Team.
Thanks for the update on the update. It is so nice to be informed promptly and not wonder if or when and then have to search for it.
Awesome service...
