From what I understand iCloud doesn't actually store the app, its just for a quick recovery of your iPhone. When you download an app that is "stored" in iCloud you are still downloading a fresh copy of it.
Thats what I thought as well--cause your apps always updates. Just weird my iphone doesnt show the red warning parking bars, I know it has worked before on earlier versions as I was using my iphone at first. Guess Ill see when 1.5 comes out it may start working again lol
1.5 should not be too far away (I hope) and I am fair sure AL would have ironed out all the bugs :)
Not sure why apple takes so long.... to approve apps on slowtunes
1.4 has it fair share of issues with GPS Speed missing, Radar and Laser audible alert problems & Bar disappearing.
But So far it shows no problems with the protection side of things.
1.5 has already been submitted to Apple so hopefully it will show up soon.
When you erase and restore a phone from iCloud backup, you will get best effort attempts at having the exact versions of the apps you backed up with. But if you delete and download the app again with the Cloud button you are guaranteed to get the latest. Same with just by checking the updates tab.
Yes speed indication now works
I'm running the latest on the alp so if I update to 1.5 will I need to update the alp again or not?

Updated app on my ATT phone no problem. Tried on my verizon and it wanted to do 1.4 again. A few tries and it finally found 1.5 and went through the motions. Opened it up and it was 1.3 Jeez!
Deleted and shut down the phone and then downloaded from App Store again. This time all went well.
The good news is I LOVE iT!
The alert and frequency is BIG enough for an old man to glance at it and catch it readily on the move. The one shot mute is very nice so it rearms after that alert goes away.
I was very happy. I'm impressed with the stellar service from BRD once again (Tom is consistent). I'm equally impressed with the product developers since they are clearly listening to the customer wants and needs.

I have red bars for parking sensors at xx mph but are you truly talking about a 0-1 mph?
Did your stat screen confirm 1.5?

I love how auto mute completely mutes the alert after 6 seconds.

mine did that for two days, even though no speed showing, on v 1.4 , even in the set up didn't use any of the gps settings, yeh i liked that as well, never made any changes to any thing this morn the warning was bak to continuous, and speed reading was working, but badly out of calibration, so was you running the 1.4 or the latest 1.5
I had 1.5. Will nuke and reload it.

Auto Mute on the Radar Alerts is set through the setup file. It is a feature and the settings are listed under Auto Mute in the Sti-R settings.

Yeah I am used to it going quiet but not going fully quiet ;) .

Just tested 1.5 and auto mute worked perfectly.... 6 Seconds Full Alert and then reduced volume for the balance of the alert.
thx, i think what ba & myself were saying , well for me on the prev 1.4 just used to give about two radar alerts and then silence and no gps digits even though it was working getting a signal, i know thats not how it was supposed to work , it just went silent, which i liked, and thought it was great, no need for auto mute
i liked that bug, :D
yep, but when you get blitzed with shop etc just made a nice change, without touching any thing it just went silent, i have the red warning light at eye level on the door pillar popping out from the door seal, which still was glowing red, until the threat passed,
Maybe they should have a Instant mute option for when your wife's driving with you in the car
Firstly, let me say overall the latest update is great and job well done to ALP.
My only beef is that with the updates to audio connectivity, my iPhone plays up in the following ways. By the way, it is connected to a USB port in the car through which it then connects to the music system.
1. No sound on start up. I generally have to open the music app and manually have to hit the play button or hit play and start the music first before I connect it to the USB port
2. Generally always goes to repeat and so I have to open up Music folder, deselect Repeat and then it will shuffle or play correctly through the steering wheel controls.
3. If I make a phone call and then hang up music will not start up again and yes again have to go the Music folder and manually start it playing.
Seems weird, I had no issues BEFORE update 1.4/1.5
I drive a European car and would not have thought I would have any issues since ALP is Euro brand.
I cannot use HFP as my system is not Bluetooth but I tried and the music comes out of the phone from memory, or really plays havoc with the phone, so is set on Speaker and Mix which is where it always has been before the update.
Has anyone had similar type problems since the update?:grief:
only a guess try different speaker settings, cant remember but my phone goes silent no alp sounds in one of the settings, worked ok moving to another settings
