You know what I believe would be very useful?
Instead of recording close range punch through distances only, use a format of attempting to clock from long range to close range all of the way after each successful reading, repeated re-attempts though the entire range.
In my experiences with either active, passive, or both, PTs can happen at specific times at a variety of distances not just close range.
I would enjoy seeing a test done that way, some day. A lot of useful data could come out of such a test.

Although that is most of our experience it isn't necessarily true. Most of the testing that has been done, has been on relatively short courses (under 2000 feet).
