Thanks for the help guys, I turned on the parking sensors, but it seems like only one of my ALP heads is beeping when i put my hand near it. I guess it has never been working because my ALPs have always required somewhat of a distance of clear space in order to start. Here is the video. Not sure why my friend's ALP beeps too sometimes, his parking sensors work.
I guess I will have to send this one back and get a new one.

Looks like the right sesnor is dead....try swapping the two at the cpu and see if it works in the left port
So, we determined it is a bad head. After disconnecting the bad head, the other single head worked fine. We also tried to plug in another spare good head, and both heads worked fine. I called BRD, and they are sending another one to me, and I will be sending the bad one back under warranty. Thanks for the great customer support.
It was actually bad ever since I first received it. It would only turn on given a ton of clear space. Thanks for the help, everyone.
Every day when I start my car I will go around with my hand and check each sensor and listen for the beep! Takes 30 seconds and then I know they are all working.....
