While the King of windshield RDs is the Redline...the also superior STi R+ (less costly, receive only antenna section) mates beautifully w/ the AL Priority.Keep that in mind before you make any decisions. It would be best to do some reading in the appropriate Threads here before your choice is made.I would also highly recommend Forum member BRD for any toys you might be buying.
Also note, the rumor mill has it that a NEW updated V1 could possibly be released very soon.

Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask questions and participate in the discussions. The ALP is a must in GA.

I would not rule out the max. Might be pretty noisy with redline or V1 even with (redline and escort live) or (V1 and YaV1) combo. I would think better combination would be have Max for local and then adding STI-R to the APL setup for road trips for off axis and long range detection. All depends on what type of setup you like. Some like quit, Some like single unit setups. Some like awareness. Waze is very helpful in Atlanta area. Over 90% of encounters are mark. Running Waze, escort live or YAV1, with ALP would get confusing I think. Max I believe is best unit for metro Atlanta. Also the number of car in Atlanta that emit radar each day is getting bad, especial up in Alpharetta area

In the ATL metro area I like the 9500ix or Max the best with TSR On. It almost eliminates the lane avoidance alerts and most other falses. And it's 90% laser on the highways anyway which your ALP will handle. Once you get outside of town radar usage increases pretty quick especially in north GA. That is where I turn TSR Off or run the Redline/V1.

Wow, there are some good bit of information going along, just in general. I have found Waze useful.
I know ALP is a definite, that I will be getting. I am not sure which windshield RD's to get though. So many choices... I will be in and out of metro area more often within few months.

Not sure about the 9500ix. That's what I'm wearing right now. It will be fine as long there is enough traffic or you have a rabbit to follow. It weakness is I/O. I think the cost of new one is way too high. I think Value should be more around the $200 to $300 range.

Welcome!
Fwiw, V1 with YaV1 using emulated savvy gps lockouts is like having the perfect gf; hardly any useless chatter. Run it in little c mode (no x/k) and it is as quiet as a morgue.
Stir plus integrated with alp would be a sweet combination too.
I bought a 9500ix a couple months back, tried it for a week and sent it back, it was quiet, but performance was way short of the V1.
Of course your mileage may vary, happy shopping!
