VoicePack name as well as all file names are always the same. They don't change.

Done 5.2.2 , easyly as usual. Had to re-install the config file.
Thanks Tom & Alp Team.
Where did you get the update from already..I don't see it on the ALP site yet and have not received the update notification from ALP either....you are privileged :) ?
Hmm..I still only see 5.2.1
http://www.alpupdate.com/Firmware
okay thanks Tom
Something odd is occurring..I didn;t think my unit was updating so I pulled a stats.alp but I didn't get a stats.alp file I got a setup.alp file...which I uploaded and gleaned info from..which tells me my fw ver is 5.1.3 and 3.5
This seems very odd as I usually always update regularily
CPU hardware ver 1...1561 cycles..control set FW 3.5..hw 1
Am I doing something amiss as to why the fw will not update properly...do I need a default reset...how many fw versions am I actually behind from 5.1.3 to the current 5.2.2
I'm using a new 64 gig usb3.0 Sandisk memory stick
tia
ALP has not used setup.alp files for months. That file was probably still on your thumb drive or your firmware is quite behind.
You are using an incompatible thumb drive, it needs to be a USB 2.0 drive and smaller than 32gb.

Okay I'll change my drive but that file came from my ALP unit. I think the ALP unit is dated ser 2553***
I'll get the newer out of my Vette 4918*** and replace the old with this newer and see how that results..
Have to purchase a smaller slower drive..no old tech like that around here :) (really doubt it's the drive tho..will advise)
All good..mixed up 2 digits on serial #..DOH
Control Box Firmware update Report (21.06.2016)
Release 5.2.5/6.8
1. Bug fixes.
2. Several LIDARs support improved.
3. Added support for Net-Radar detector.
4. Added support for the latest ALPConnect app.
Is it posted on the alpupdate site? once I enter my control box number this is what I see first: Please enter the SERIAL NUMBER of your AL PriorityŽ Control Box (Present fw. version is 5.2.3/6.7 released 2016-03-23)
Just noticed there is no RDR option when you select Net Radar as the detector unit.
ok just wanted to make sure it was disabled, that's all.
Now I'm getting GPS antenna disconnected and rear radar antenna disconnected alerts. I've unplugged each and reseated them but am still getting the alerts. I noticed the green light on the RG3 module is not lit.
GPS Antenna needs to be connected to RG3 Module's GPS Port and Antenna 1 in the Front 1 & Rear Ports if you have both antennas. You also need to activate both on the setup page. Each antenna was tested before shipping so you have a configuration issue. Did you also connect the Power Splitter cable?
I'll check again but I know for a fact GPS is in the right spot. I asked about it on RDF.
Lmao! The cable from the control box somehow disconnected. All is well now! Lol
So glad i got the BT module Ver 2.0 I just downloaded the APP connected to module FW update done OTA. All done and complete in less then 10min.
I just completed loading my two ALP systems and received an unusual verbal warning: CHECKSUM FAILED, RESTORE DEFAULTS.
Both ALP systems have CPU Hardware Version 2.
To two properly formatted USB Flash Drives (that I have used previously with no problems) I downloaded the new ALP Control Box F/W Update 5.2.5/6.8 - Uxxxxxxx.bin, for each individual system, also downloaded on to each flash drive: UCSTHIFI.BIN, VOICEPCK.ALP, CONFIG.ALP (with Profiles A/B/C).
The updates to each system appeared to be progressing normally until almost completed, when the CHECKSUM FAILED, RESTORE DEFAULTS warning was heard.
The sequence of voice messages for each system was:
Data Stored
Firmware Updating
Please Wait
CHECKSUM FAILED, RESTORE DEFAULTS
Data Stored
Both systems have previously had the "Restore Defaults and Memorize Sensors" function performed. No sensors have been added or deleted. All 5 sensors on each car alert to my hand when placed near each sensor. When in the Yellow Menu, function #6 "Connected Sensors" states F3, F2, F1, R2, R1.
Question: Should I go into the Yellow Menu, and perform function #5: Restore Defaults and Memorize Sensors? Will this take care of the "CHECKSUM FAILED" problem? If I do perform another "Restore Defaults and Memorize Sensors", will I have to reload my Configuration Profiles?
Thanks for any advice concerning this CHECKSUM FAILED situation.
Try doing the Restore Defaults, then reload your configuration. Also see if the firmware updated or not.
If the firmware didn't update, the checksum error was probably due to a corrupt or incorrect firmware file. Try re-downloading and copying it to the USB drive again and see if it works.
Is this a new install of an ALP? Have you registered your serial number yet? Perhaps the update server hasn't updated your firmware file yet.
Thanks radargeek, I'll perform the Restore Defaults and Memorize Sensors function, I didn't want to do it immediately in case the CHECKSUM FAILED problem was caused by something else. I'll also re-format and re-download all four files from the ALP Update website, on to my flash drives, then on to the systems.
I'll also print a Statistic (STATS.ALP) file, which will have the device info and Profile settings on it. In the Yellow Menu, it did state that the firmware version was 5.2.5/6.8, which is the correct new firmware update.
NOT a new install. Both ALP systems 1 year old. I have performed previous updates, since last year, with no problems, such as the CHECKSUM FAILED problem.
Thanks again for your advice, radargeek. I'll post again after I complete another download to the flash drives, then to the systems. It's strange, I never received nor have I ever read anyone receiving a CHECKSUM FAILED warning.
Just updated mine to 5.2.5 and also got 'Checksum failed, restore defaults' ?
You need to load a new setup file since several setup options changed.

Just did my OTA, no problem except I see that I also need to load a new setup file because my light is now flashing instead of on constant, Have be busy and have not had time to do Net radar install yet. Just want to get software loaded. I like to do install in steps, so if there is a problem it makes it easier to isolate the problem.
Prior to my receiving a "CHECKSUM FAILED", I downloaded each newly generated file directly from the ALP Update website. (See my post above from 9:02 PM this evening) The Configuration file, with Profiles A/B/C, was also newly generated directly from the ALP website.
My systems do NOT have the new Net radar antenna. All components of both ALP systems are exactly the same as they were for the last three or four Control Box updates.
winterbrew.....did you also download ALL of your files directly from the ALP Update website? Or did you download only the new ALP Control Box firmware 5.2.5/6.8 file? Its interesting that we both had the same verbal warning, that I have never heard before.
Does not matter. Just run a factory reset and load new configuration file and you will be good to go.
