Control Box firmware update (14.12.2015)
Release 5.2.1/6.5
1. Advanced LCC filtering: enabling ALP installation into cars equipped with LCC systems (Laser Cruise control/Laser brake assistants/LaserAntiCrash) such as: Volvo, Mazda, Infinity and others. It will be necessary to properly select your type of vehicle on the configuration web site to enable additional filtering in the ALP unit.
2. Configuration Profiles! Double-click the Menu button to change between stored A, B or C Profiles. The selected Profile will be announced by voice over the HiFi Control set. This feature is only available on systems with HiFi Controllers. Modify each Profile to your preference on the alpupdate.com website.
3. Instead of the old SETUP.alp file format the ALPriority now uses the CONFIG.alp and STATS.alp files. The alpupdate.com website will create a CONFIG.alp file to transport your configuration to the ALP. When saving statistics from your ALP to a USB flash drive your ALP will create a STATS.alp file and a CONFIG.alp file. When sending your Statistics for support questions, send in your STATS.alp file only.
4. Laser support improved
5. Added support for the Radenso HD+ radar antenna
6. Various bug-fixes and stability improvements (Radar antennas, etc.).
Will our existing setup.alp files we have on USB sticks now continue to work with this new firmware or do we have to create new ones?
Just trying out the configuration website now to see how it works. The ability to copy one profile to another is there, nice! Looks like old setup.alp files can be uploaded as well.
Update complete over BT took about 10min max.
Sounds good with the new setup files to choose from!
Sure would be nice for APPLE to get the new Connect App out so we all can update OTA.......
It will not be released before the new BT module is released since there are changes that need to be made to support the new BT module. Get one of those $10 to $20 cheap Android phones and use it for just the ALP.. The Android platform is much better since Apple restricts so much on the iPhone platform.
updating the control box FW does not change my current setup is that correct?
after the up date install, can u just run with the original config or do u have to re config as well, using apple phone
both done via apple thx
If I am correct in reading - A, B, C profiles is only available for HiFi controllers. Will this feature be available to those without HiFi in the future?
If LED changes colors, you would know what profile you were in, so not sure where the confusion would be. It would be good if the LED would remain Cyan or Magenta instead of reverting back to blue, thus make it easy to tell what profile you are in at all times. In HiFi, does the system announce what Profile you are in at startup?
You think of this as an enthusiast with alot of knowledge. The problem is enthusiasts are less than 2% of the business and over 50% of the users have trouble even downloading a file from their PC to a USB Drive. To the average user the system is getting too complicated as it is then to remember what color they saw when they tapped a button by accident. ALP will not announce the profile at startup and it will just remember what profile you chose when the system was last on.
If you have a PDC-only or DLI-only profile, you'll know when you're in those based on the LED color.
If you have more than one LID profile, for example, a timed LID one and an unlimited one, here's my magic tip of the day: configure each one with a different LED mode (i.e. steady on one and flashing on the other), that way you'll know which one you're in at all times. On mine I have my timed LID profile with the external LED dark and control set LED dimmed (this is my normal profile and how I prefer the LEDs), while my unlimited profile has both LEDs flashing, so I have a constant reminder that I'm in unlimited.
new apple fw out
No not at all just saw it today thx
This idea of using an inexpensive Android to run Alp Connect & Blue tooth appeals to me for many reasons.
It seems to me the Android becomes a dedicated operating screen for ALP Connect
So let me hang out my lack of knowledge and ask
- how one accomplishes this without actually opening a cell provider account?
- how the internet then gets accessed for the OTA updates?
- any specific phones to recommend
I do not mean to hijack this thread.
If it is better to PM the answer or to direct me to a different thread please do so
Best
Edward
Heck just about any Android 4.2 or higher phone with Bluetooth 4.0 support should work. I have not tested one of these but even this would probably work and its a whopping $10

Just use WiFi to connect it to your regular phone to add internet to the device for updates.
any chance you have a link for updated FW for new HiFi control set?
Just go to the ALP Update website: http://www.alpupdate.com
Thanks I did find it and bookmarked it from post#4.
Ok i am lost ...can someone recap what has to be done to be up-to-date.
For what i understand , my system being HiFi , i need to configure like 2 profiles :
A) configure to have Parking Only ''config.alp''
B) configure to have unlimited time to jam : ''config.alp''
I place those 2 ''config.alp'' on my usb.
I download also : voicepck.alp + uXXXXXXX.bin and place them on the same usb . Alp being closed , i place the usb and start the cpu , and wait till process is completed.
Is this right ?
Now how do i switch from profile A to B , and what do i look to know the system status.
( 2. Configuration Profiles! Double-click the Menu button to change between stored A, B or C Profiles. The selected Profile will be announced by voice over the HiFi Control set. This feature is only available on systems with HiFi Controllers. )
I mean aside the voice announcement , do we still have the led color (green/red) on the control box to show us the status ?
I know it sounds weird coming fom an old timer ...just i want to make sure i dont miss a step .
Thanks.
The HiFi voice announces which profile you're selecting when you double-click the menu button. The LED shows blue, cyan or magenta briefly but then it reverts back to the LED color for the mode you're in (PDC, DLI, or LID).
If you have a timed LID profile and an unlimited LID profile, I recommend setting the LED to flashing on one and steady on the other, so you'll know which one you're in.
Since the update , it seems my setting for the external led is lost , before it stayed off and lighted only under alert , setting was '' dark mode/ dimmed ''.
Using the same setting , now the led is dimmed but always on ?? Someone noticed the same behavior ?
Ok very fine Tom , i will re-do it . At first i did'nt notice the opt-in for the profile ...i taught i had to do 2 config files separately wich did not work as the second one would change for config(2).alp !
Finally i opted for the old fashion way , one key / one config :thumb: as my set-up allows me to change at the flip of a switch.
I did so because once i understood the one config/3 profiles schematic , i loaded it and whatever the profile the control led stayed green on the 3 profiles ...i gave up and harbored to the old and safe known ...getting old i guess.
Thanks for all.
I drove today and the external led (dimmed) placed at the bottom of the dash is not obstrusive at all :D
I know I'm late to the game with this update, but, based on what you stated, I can opt-out of profiles? I don't want to use them. If I need to use them as parking sensors, I just pull the USB key from the cable as I have a privacy key file on it at all times.
Control Box firmware update (12.03.2016)
Release 5.2.2/6.6
1. Added detection of new camera system – ARH Traffic-Spot.
2. Additional LIDAR support improved
3. Added support for the latest ALPConnect app. Profile button has been added to the app.
4. Various bug-fixes and stability improvements (Radar antenna, Self-test, Bluetooth, PDC etc.).
Please Note - If you are running Radar Integration you MUST load a new configuration file. We are in the process of improving the radar integration process and adding support for additional 3rd party radar antennas. Settings for previous radar settings will be erased after this firmware update so you must load a new configuration file after the update is performed. If you update via BT and run radar integration you will lose your radar settings after the update so if you are not in the position to create a new configuration file please hold off on hitting the update button in ALP Connect until you have a configuration file on a USB Stick ready to go.
What is the new Voice Pack called? Gen 7? The alpupdate.com site has not reflected the voicepack name.
