My apologies, I should have been more observant. Only read the updates on the alpupdate home page.
How it went in acceleration 8 X :

OK i did the up date and installed all new files, It went thru the up dates and everything went fine, 1 thing that i noticed is that i no longer get a visual blinking light when im being hit with lidar.
After the alert the lite flashs blue but nothing else.
I have gone thru the menu and changed the LED mode to each one of the settings and it still only lights up when the alert is no longer there and only blue.
Any help?
There was never a blinking light when hit. You were probably in Pro Mode and in Pro Mode the light will flicker based on the received signal strenght.
I'm not able to bring easily the cables from the rear trunk to the front seats. So I want to install 2 unit boxes, one for the front (2 heads), one in the rear (2 heads) which will will stay in the trunk.Quote:
New selectable option is available: After LID timeout. Select between two options. If DLI & Warm-up is selected, the ALP will switch to detect only mode after the LID timer (3-9 seconds) times-out during a Laser alert. It will remain in detect only mode as long as you are being actively targeted, and then it will go into a warm-up. If Warm-up is selected, the system will go into a 60 seconds of warm-up mode before it reactivates detection and/or defense again.
As I believe it's not possible to handle 2 boxes together with the Bluetooth, I can't switch off the rear box when I've slowed down the speed.
I would like to set a maximum duration for the jamming about 5 seconds. Is it possible?
Get a HiFi control set for the rear ALP and use that to JTK on rear hits. The app can't connect to two ALPs at the same time, I don't believe.
You can set the max LID time to 5 seconds, no problem. 4 seconds is better, and if you can kill it even faster that's even better still.
In the CPU, is there a buzzer to warn me? Or should I buy the HiFi module?
About the warm-up time without jamming, is it possible to set to more than 60 seconds?
Thanks for help.
Is it possible to have an autostart of the CPU without (BT)? The CPU is in the trunk!
You need either a controller or BT connected to turn on the system. If you have CPU connected to a switched power circuit it will turn on and off w I think the key. If using BT the phone must be running for it to start up.

Details of the 5.1.4 update: (10/08/15)
Control Box Firmware update: Release 5.1.4/6.4
1. Various bug-fixes and stability improvements (USB, GPS etc.).
2. Algorithm tuned for better support of some LIDARs.
3. New Option in yellow menu is available (Yellow-9) “Performance Tests”. This Option will open a sub-menu for all performance tests available in the ALP. Option is available only if GPS Antenna is connected and if HiFi Control Set is used.
4. New Performance Test has been added “Lap Time” (Yellow-9). This will temporary turn your ALP system into a GPS Lap Time stopwatch and measure your vehicles time over a full lap. Time in minutes and seconds is given as a result. Mode only works if GPS Antenna is connected and if HiFi Control Set is used.
5. Improved filtering against foreign LCC equipped cars (Volvo, Infinity, VW, Honda, Mazda,…). LCC cars especially behind you will no longer start a false alert
6. Option Manual Sensors Check (Yellow-6) will perform memorize sensors similarly like the Restore Defaults option but without the defaulting your settings.
Can I do this update with my BT module connected android phone?
The main site to regenerate the configuration files (which I always like to do when a new FW is released to make sure I'm not missing any new features) appears to have a sort of bug. When you load a current version of the configuration file (with all of the options that currently exist in the system), it will happily generate a new setup.alp file for you. But if you load an older setup.alp with the intention of taking all of your old features, selecting your desired configuration on anything new, and generating a new setup.alp, then after you click "Save & Download", it goes back to the firmware setup page instead of the page to download the newly generated setup.alp file. Therefore, to generate a new setup.alp file, I had to load the old configuration in one browser tab, start selecting the options in a second browser tab, and switch between the two tabs to make sure that both of them were configured the same.
I installed the new FW using my BT, boy it go's slow. It went to 100% completion without any problems. When I switch back to HIFI mode, and did a power up, it is telling me to update the voice pack.
Yes, It will take anywhere from 7 to 15 minutes depending on your Internet connection. During this time the system will work 100% as normal so you can drive and do your thing while the update in downloading and transferring in the background.
The current firmware update if you are using HiFi will also require a voice pack update. You will need to do that separately.

upgrade completed on my morning drive. Super easy I did nothing but start it. I watch my LED turn colors and restart all on its own. I agree that it would be a nice add-on to be able to do setup with the APP.
I did a print setting after my update and got the following results. What is the correct Control set FW version for the HIFI. I see you had labeled newest version as Control Box Firmware update: Release 5.1.4/6.4 Not sure if I am following this correctly but I guessing 6.4 is for the non-HIFI controller
Firmware version 5.1.4
Region North America
Power Cycles 1289
Control Set FW version 5.3
Control Set HW version 2
Activated locks not active
Hardware version 2
I also had to update the voice pack. No biggie. Updated and everything works fine. ALP's are amazing!

Curious to learn what is the ''performance test '' in yellow menu last hit ?
They are vehicle performance tests and really have nothing to do with ALP Performance if you are getting that confiused, Really just giving some more features to give more functionality to your parking system. Performance Tests in the Yellow menu opens a Sub-menu for all performance tests available;
Zero to sixty;
Sixty to Zero;
Quarter Mile
Lap Time.
Lap Time is a New Performance Test. It will temporarily turn your ALP system into a GPS Lap Time stopwatch, and will measure a vehicle's time over a full lap.
Performance Tests are ONLY available if a GPS antenna and a HiFi Control set are used.
Relatively new to ALP, but man, am I impressed. Second update in about 3 months - and no drama when doing the update either. The other laser brand I had for about a 18 months and not one update. Great work ALP!
I was able to update my system today via Bluetooth. Choose "Firmware Update" from the ALP Phone App, File downloaded and then it updated the ALP Controller. Painless!! ALP is THE BEST!!!
if not using HIFI do i need to do both or just control box ?, info via dgc email
WHEN UPDATING YOUR SYSTEM, DOWNLOAD BOTH THE CONTROL BOX AND CONTROL SET UPDATES AND STORE TO A USB STICK. HiFi USERS MUST ALSO DOWNLOAD THE NEW VOICEPACK.
BLUETOOTH USERS: NOTE THAT THE CONTROL SET CAN NOT BE UPDATED IF THE CONTROL SET IS NOT PLUGGED INTO THE CONTROL BOX DURING THE UPDATE.
Suggestion to ease the task for everyone : here on this post : gives the direct link for each group of users .
Such as : '' Only firmware and new Voice Pack for HiFi users.''
Such as : BT users : xyz has to be upgraded.
yep but confusing i did both, then re did std controller, will check controller later, fw is in ok, hope i aint upset things doing what i was advised
good to know thx
