Do any members have a recommendation as to which type or brand of Double-Sided Tape is the best to use for Long-Term Holding Power in securing ALP sensors to their mounting positions?

3M "VHB" style tape. If you properly prepare your surfaces clean with alcohol wipes (and let dry!) it'll glue a fart to an ice cube.
just out of interest, how difficult is it to remove the item from the vhb tape
You can get some fishing line to slice thru the sticky tape then some goof off and a razor to clean everything up.
Had my old M47 attached using it. Had no problem get it off.
If I need to use two (2) pieces of the 3M "VHB" tape between the sensor and the mounting surface, for spacing purposes, do I need to do anything special where the two flat pieces of tape join to each other? Or can I just place one piece of tape upon the other? (In other words, one piece of tape will be on a surface of the car, the second piece of tape will be on the sensor. Can I just push the tape on the sensor right onto the tape on the car's surface?)
You can just add pieces as needed. When I did my last ALP install, I used the brackets, problem with tape is that it very hard to make the needed small adjustment after you get them installed. Alignment is very important. I recheck my all the time and can make the needed adjustments. They will move with time.
