The following is new with the upcoming release. Please note release date is dependent on the time it takes for Google to approve the new version of ALPConnect Android. We are hoping for Tomorrow or Monday but we will let everyone know when its available to install.

What is New:

1. Simultaneous detection of multiple Radar
System analyzes the strength and importance of different radar sources and the one with the highest priority is alerted to on a wired control set. Multiple radars can be seen and handled in more detail in the ALPConnect application. (NOTE: this feature is active only when using radar antennas supporting multiple radar detection.)

2. Radar direction differentiation (ahead, side, behind)
If using V1 or a pair of Net Radar antennas (front and rear) connected to your ALP system, ALP will let you know the direction of the radar source.

The LED will light differently depending on the position of the radar:
• Front - RED
• Side - RED & YELLOW (LED will quickly flash between the two colors)
• Rear - YELLOW

If using a HiFi system the lights will be accompanied by verbal warnings AHEAD, SIDE or BEHIND. If not using a HiFi system, the warning beeps will remain the same for radar detection.

3. New GPS signal lost setting (Vortex can now be happy)
New option is available for GPS Signal Lost. Select "NEVER“ in the online configurator if you do not wish to be notified when GPS signal is lost.

4. New logs in statistics file or from viewing statistics on ALP Connect:
• Radar Antenna Fault Log
• Last Detected Laser Log
• Last Detected Radar Log
• Last System Error Log
• Last System Warning Log

For users using ALPConnect you can just hit the Statistics Button in the app and a copy of your stats will be saved on the ALP servers so we can help trouble shoot issues much easier.

....

AL Priority - Voicepack & HiFi Control Set firmware update Gen 9./5.5.

1. New voicepack includes Ahead, Behind and Side radar notifications.
2. New HiFi control set firmware update supports new and future features.

....

ALPConnect - Android 7.1A

1. Added support for simultaneous detection of multiple Radar and radar direction differentiation (ahead, side, behind)
• Front, Rear, Side Radar Alert Notifications
• Total number of present radars shown on the new Alarms button
• Tapping the Alarms button will cycle through to the next radar ID
• Suppress radars as needed to ignore false alerts

2. Visual redesign includes new icons and graphics

3. Automatic firmware update options added to ALPConnect settings - On every power-on ALPConnect will check and notify you if a new firmware update is available.

....

ALPConnect Apple is undergoing an update and will be ready in 4-6 weeks. For now ALP Connect Apple will only display one radar alert until the new Apple app is released.

Hi Tom,

Regarding the "New Logs in the Statistics File", specifically the "Last Detected Laser Log", I would like to clarify what it consists of:

I assume it will have, as the name states, the "Last Detected Laser" in the Log. But will it also have and retain a chronological list of Lasers detected prior to the last detected Laser, e.g.Laser X that was detected today, Laser Y that was detected yesterday, Laser Z that was detected two days ago, etc.

Is there a limit to the number of "Last Detected Lasers" which would be contained in the Log?

Will the present Statistics File be retained, which lists the various Lasers, and how many total times each specific Laser has been detected, or will that list be deleted from the new update?

Last means exactly what it sounds like. The stats file will contain everything it has in the past but will have a new section for the last errors and radar and laser hit. That will not be available until Monday.

Will there be an update anytime soon for adding a 3rd sensor for the rear?

For the record, it's on the "honey-do" list, however Owners (you,I & many others) have been informed there are other priorities to be addressed 1st.....patience of all interested will be rewarded !- (when AL is ready to release this Option)
