Hi all,

I noticed the other day I got a real world hit from a PL3 and it was alarmingly slow in issuing audible alarms.

First problem was the LED didn't go red, it totally blanked. Then a second later ALP Connect announced the usual "ProLaser 3, ahead" followed by red LED.

I thought this was weird, so I've since tested it with my UL and a similar thing happens. The LED goes from blue to red instantly (thank god) but ALP Connect ap takes a good full second before announcing anything. The car display on the app starts instantly flashing red, but the voice announcements and "whoop whoop" alarm are delayed.

Anyone noticed that ever?

Make sure you have updated to the latest ALPConnect app.

There was a problem as you decribe on a previous Android version on select phones (my Galaxy S5 was affected as you mention), and the update fixed it up.

Are you running Pro Mode? The LED behavior makes it look like you got a brief bit of scatter, then nothing for a second, then the kill shot, and at that point the LED turned red and the app started alerting.

Yeah pro mode is on, I figured that probably explained the LED once I was getting instant changes during testing. The app I believe is the latest version, although I will refresh it today to be safe.

Are there any known latency issues with some makes of phone I wonder???

Cheap slow phones can surely have delay issues but any Samsung or current name brand phone should be instant. If you have a current phone you probably are running an old copy of ALP Connect.

Video of the issue below. Seems to skip the alert prior to the voice enunciation.

ALP Connect is 2.2A
Firmware is 5.2.7/7.1
Phone is HTC Desire 626

Are you playing the phone's audio through Bluetooth? There could be a lag when it switches over/starts sending the audio to the car system or the car system delays before it switches over to the BT audio.
