Hi folks,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Greetings from the lovely (crappy due to laws about RDs and LJs) province. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you over the years I've been a lurker. Learnt a lot.

It's been 2 years since I was into this stuff (at the time LI was king). I didn't know what VPR guns were, what DETC or even the Laser Ally was. I thought I was good with the LI. Thank god I didn't get a ticket (I drive VERY fast) over the years. Picked up a ALP from KMPH. Alex was absolutely fantastic to deal with. Bought it the day before Thanksgiving here in Canada. I look forward to being an active poster. This place seems like a lot of fun.

Happy driving and happy jammin' ;)

AngryPenguin (no I'm not angry. Urbandictionary the name and you'll laugh :D)

You need to exercise great care & especially caution if your travels are in the GTA !
Not only are the Dragon Lidar guns a particular threat, but OPP also uses LaserAtlanta "SpeedLaser" guns. This gun has an overly sensitive built-in jammer detection ckt. that lets the user know when the gun is being jammed. The gun will throw a fault code in the H.U.D. & its rear panel display screen to inform the LEO why they couldn't get a 'reading' on you...next thing you see will be the RED & BLUE lights in your RVM.

Yup, full well aware of that. I've had a LI since it first came out and have owned a few over the years. Have always JTK and never have had an issue. I'll JTK about 20km/hr over the speed limit as it's not realistic to JTK at the speed limit as no one does that here...

Got hit with a Stalker today. "Stalker ahead" from my ALP. I died laughing. I'm like.."yup, fu..... stalker ahead" :p

Welcome you should try and take part in one of the jamming events that our US brothers hold. The capability of the guns varies significantly and it can help you tweak your setup.

There's a few of us in the GTA who know each other if you have any questions

spankyaf, yes, absolutely. I would love to take part in a jamming event! I have not had the opportunity to do so and would love to go. How can I find out more information as to when these events are held? Thanks!

Thanks! There's usually an announcement by Forum member "Qui-Gon" here in the appropriate Thread if he's going to hold a Can/Am Meet.

Marksman or Ultralyte used heavily in the area that I live in.

I'm surprised Dragoneye is all over York region. (407 OPP). what's up with that?
