ALP LTI Truspeed False?

I was passing through Hinton, AB a fairly small city where they were doing paving the whole way through. It was around 4:30 PM and no workers were out, but there were still cones and signs etc. I entered the city from the East and made it all the way through to the very West edge of town just before the speed limit increased back up to highway speeds when my ALP went off. I'm assuming it was a false because there was no one around, no parked cars, no one standing on the side of the road, no overpasses, nothing. I also thought it was weird that if there was a LEO, that they would be targeting west bound traffic at the west end of town, exiting the city/construction zone. Also, my Bel Pro 500 did NOT go off. I found it odd because the only other time my ALP has gone off was during testing using an Ultralyte about a year ago, I have yet to have any falses or real encounters. I have however had a few laser falses on my Pro 500 caused by the vehicles horn or a couple times randomly on startup, but the ALP never went off these times. I pulled up the ALP stats and it says it was an LTI Truspeed, and I only have dual front sensors, no rear. I have passed through that spot a few times before, both ways, and never had a lidar encounter. Anything particular that would cause a false, or do you think it was real?

There are some pole mounted LTI guns but not sure if they are used in your area. I have never seen a TruSpeed false.

Oh really? I couldn't say for sure they don't have them in that city, but wouldn't they be pointed at the rear of vehicles to capture plate as well? And also any idea why my Pro 500 didn't alert?

Sometimes pole mounted guns are used as traffic light sensors or part of an RLC system, and those typically shoot the front of the car (the camera would shoot the rear from a different location).

Your Pro 500 didn't alert because it didn't see the signal. Windshield mounted RDs aren't very reliable at detecting lidar, unless it's a V1, and even those can miss sometimes. That's why the ALP exists. :)

The ALP almost never falses. It only alerts to specific pulse rates by known guns. The Truspeed uses a very specific and unique pulse rate (200.3 pps) so it's not likely that something else would be emitting pulses at that exact rate. There's also the Truspeed S which is 4000 pps. Something other than a lidar gun is more likely to use that pulse rate than 200.3, but unless you have the Bluetooth and app or a HiFi control set, you won't know if it was a TS or a TSS.

P.S. I remember a year or two ago someone posting a video of an encounter with a Truspeed S mounted inside a fake electrical box and placed on the side of the road, and monitored remotely by a LEO in a vehicle parked a few hundred feet away. I vaguely recall it being in Canada but I don't know if it was in Alberta. Maybe that's what you encountered?

Yeah I only have front sensors. And I was already probably 300+ metres past the last traffic light in the city, just about to speed back up to highway speeds. And like I said when it went off I looked around up ahead and didn't see a single car or person etc. I don't think there were any sort of boxes but maybe.
