As we start to gear up for many improvements coming next year the ALP file names will be changing and we will be doing away with the Setup.ALP file and new setup file will be called Config.ALP after the next firmware update. Many users have been asking for ways to use different settings files and AntiLaser has been listening and we now will be offering different profiles.
The new Setup page will look like this:
5014
You will now be able to set unique settings for 3 different user profiles. (Blue, Cyan or Magenta) and you can easily switch between profiles by double tapping the menu button.
As you can also see we also are now testing an option to allow the ALP to be installed in vehicles which have Active Laser Cruise Systems. (Only for Volvo & Infinity's at this time) If the ALP is installed in one of these vehicles you must choose the Vehicle type on the new Setup Page.

Wow, neat! I'd like to be able to change settings on the STiR+ without using a USB stick.

Will this be the same for BT connected users?

Just use a different profile with your Plus Settings that you want adjusted.

Not at this time but with new BT module you will be able to easily switch between BT and the wired controller.

BRD, does this change mean we can switch between laser defense mode and parking sensor mode just by double clicking the menu button?

BRD, does this change mean we can switch between laser defense mode and parking sensor mode just by double clicking the menu button? You can do that now with a single click of the menu button, if you have "Force parking only" set in the settings for menu quick press.
The profiles will let you do more with a double click, such as changing LID time or switch to/from unlimited, switch from LID to DLI or PDC, change radar settings/segmentation if you have a radar antenna connected, etc.
That does raise the question however, are there any settings that aren't part of the 3 profiles? Can LED settings (flash, dim, or dark) be set on a per-profile basis too? Normally I run my remote LED dark, but when running Unlimited I have it flashing so I know when I'm in unlimited. Can that be done with the profiles?
Something that would be nice to have (if they aren't implementing it already) is a copy button on the website to copy one profile to another, so that settings you want to be the same across all the profiles (such as volume or LED brightness) don't have to be set separately on all the profiles.

A profile consists of ALL unique settings that are on the setup page so you can have 3 completely customized profiles and quickly switch between them. Please also note that this will only be available on the HiFi Controller.

Having just recently installed my quad ALP on my R35 GTR to replace an accident damaged quad LI system from years gone by, I like this upcoming feature. Being able to set 3 profiles this way is a handy method to have slight changes to my setup on the go.
I already have a micro USB drive loaded with a parking only setup for emergency use (!) and this feature is a nice addition.
