Noticed the ALP in my Merc not on this am...got home and tested power okay..ideas ? Is there a reset function?

No, If the CPU will not startup and you can confirm power and ground is good then you have a failed Controller or CPU.

He does not have anyone covering for him while he is away? If I replaced it for you by the the time the replacement crosses the border he will already probably be back.
