Just finished up a 2 head (front & rear) ALP install on my BMW K1600GTL motorcycle complete with BT module & ALP Connect. Had my bike tore down to near skeleton level with the install and only had 2 bolts left over after I put her back together :disgust:. The install consisted of a bit more than the ALP system including; Escort Redline, RAM mount with power supply for iPhone, BT module for iPhone to Autocom, Kenwood Bike-to-Bike FRS/GMRS radio w/VOX; with all hardwired into an Autocom Pro SPA hub. Autocom output is hard wired to my in-ear monitors and performs wonderfully. I listen to music 98% of the time when I ride and the ALP alerts, Escort alerts and B-t-B come across from the Autocom slightly louder than the music. Again, wonderful!
ALP Connect works great and would be near perfect with one modification. I listen to music when I ride with ALP Connect running in the background and a music or GPS app in foreground on my iPhone. It would be a great improvement if an ALP alert immediately brought ALP Connect to foreground on the iPhone enabling a touch of iPhone screen to place ALP in park assist mode. As it is, it's kinda difficult to press iPhone 'Home' button twice (quickly), touch ALP Connect app to bring to foreground, then touch screen to place ALP in park assist mode; all with gloves on and maintaining control of motorcycle
:smiley-laughing:
I have a request into Antilaser for this modification. Feature could be an option with setup.
I'm new to Laser and Radar detection and hope to learn much from RALF :eagerness:

Unfortunately it's an Apple limitation on how notifications are allowed to he displayed. If you were to run ALP Connect on Android you could have the app in the background with the screen off and even locked and if hit the phones screen would wake up and unlock and the app would come immediately foward.

OK...
I think I saw a post on this forum with picture of a PopUp window w/radio button to bring ALP Connect to forefront?
Not so with my version...a small text banner is placed at top of screen that is hardly noticeable :confusion:
From that it's....press-press ; touch ; touch ; touch (with left hand on iPhone) all the while backing off throttle with right hand along with maybe a little right foot brake :hail:
For now I just depend on the 6 second delay before park assist :hopelessness:

For apple version you need to go to notifications in your settings and customize the notifications to the choices apple offers. You will see the different options available but the only option apple offers is notification bar or pop up banner. You cant bring he whole app forward but the banner will give you the popup with the option to cancel or open the app.

Yep...know that now. I'm new to the forum and read a few threads after my post. Guess I shoulda done a little lurking before my 1st post :frown:
I'll probably be scouting for a used iPhone 5, pick up another Ram mount and run ALPConnect dedicated on the 5....or mount an Android unit :hororr:

I had the banner selected...changed to Popup and will test it out tomorrow. Should be much better than 'push-push, slide, slide, tap, tap' :encouragement:
