Will do mate cheers. On that note I would imagine that all the money spent is no good if the installation is not correct. Is there someone really good to get the install done? You think Paul's guy is good?

cant help there i do my own, but if pauls knows some one should be ok, the alignment is critical, and distance from ur # plate, check anti laser thread or show off ur instal just do a lot of reading

Welcome mate :)
Good choice on the ALP/VIP combo, thats exactly what I run and it works well.

Yes Paul @ radar.com.au is incredibley helpful when it come to your VIP purchase.

And Tim @ Dontgetcaught.com.au should be able to help you out with the ALP purchase.

I would also look into the VIP laser side, seems to tackle the Poliscan quite well and should be more than capable with the Truspeeds in your area.

Anyway, welcome to the forum

Hello Shane ... good to finally meet you on the forum. I have read a lot of yours/dinkydi's posts. I know you have the exact same combination I want and I hope to get some good knowledge from you mate. I did go and see the laser part of VIP but from what I "hear" it doesnt match the ALP. Also I might go back to the east coast one day so again not sure if it will be effective there.

Paul was very helpful. I am not sure if I met Tim from dontgetcaught or one of his assistants but he was helpful as well. Now its just money really..it is lethal on your wallet!! :)

Can I ask if you go the install done yourself or somewhere else?

Also are there any get togethers or meet ups of Aussie members in Perth ever?

Yes there are Perth members :)
If your not keen mouting things to your car, then a good autospark should be able to install it for you. Yes we have extensively tested it against RDD's and it undetectable, myself & BeingAware & Paul have all owned RDD's and tested it out

Sting is invisible to RDD. What is your fine for being caught ?
Here it is confiscation + $ 650 , no points demerit.

Para

I think in WA there should be no fine! where are you located mate? Tman

So how did you get caught?

Tman
07-19-2015, 01:05 PM
Long story , in the pre-Sti era i ordered from cobra which was labelled invisible to VG-2 , salesman talk.

Few days later we were driving in a pack on highway being the slowest , then i saw an undentified car on the shoulder.
After i passed it , it jumped back on the road to reach the pack , while he passed at my height it was still hard to say he was a cop or not . For safety i had shut-off the cobra , he kept following the pack , searching the signal ...
My error was to tease him by opening breifly the cobra to see his reaction , no reaction , he then pulled off very fast and disappeared ahead.

Few minutes later i put back the cobra on ...after passing an overpass i saw his cherries on ... i shut it off immediately but too late , did'nt have the chance to throw it out because it was on the back seat enclosed in a carton box. The first thing he asked was the rd , which i dont have blabla ...
Ok you give it to me or i tow your car and we will find it , i will call a towing right away.

As i kept my story he ordered my wife and i to step out of the car , took him 1 minute to find the leading wires then the box , as he passed in front of us waiting on the shoulder he shouted holding the box in the air : this is ''obtruction to justice'' . In his cruiser he called his office , checked the culprit with his vg-2 , took a long 5 minutes .
Back to me we discussed a bit his rdd , said they have re-tuned it ...he was so happy.
Me too in a way to get rid of the cobra-shit :barbershop_quartet_

My lesson was taken : never underestimate your enemy.

So how did you get caught?

Just wondering if WA guys can give any input if this would be the case here

That's a sad story mate. These guys are horrible!

Tman

Yes they are , yesterday a state trooper killed 3 people : 2 regular cruisers were flying ( lighs & siren on ) to a house for family violence .

The driver( victim ) saw the 2 cruisers but a 3rd - unidentified black cruiser was following at a distance (no siren)- bang full force the little Kia .
Psl on this 2 way road is 50 kms , by the picture the ghost was easily running 130 kms .

Pic in link : closer car is the ghost , Kia is the victims car , the cop is in hospital but out of danger. An inquiry is being done.

The ATMV Commodores (Concept Cars) with Traffic Enforcement have Spectre RDD's fitted, although radar detectors are still 100% legal in WA. These were spotted nearly 2 years ago by one of our members.

There's plenty of people driving round with crap Cobra detectors that leak badly on Ka band (its the only Ka action my V1 detects now :) ) that would be picked up by an RDD miles away.

Yes.

Or Escort Redline, Beltronics (XR) Magnum, Beltronics STi-R+ (aka Bel XRC Plus AU), Escort 9500ci

No worries in WA currently - not sure why they have forked out the money on Spectre RDD's when RD's are not yet illegal in WA

Is that how the sneaky coppers operating in QLD in news story video, hiding inside a van shooting an LR B thru the back window glass at approaching cars - wow. That's how criminals wait in ambush ready to pounce on their prey.

yep they do any thing to get ya, once they are out there there is no rules they go out threw the window as long as they get ya,at least the truth came out 10 per shift no smoke without a fire eh, :beaten: so they think, thats where stinger comes in with its long range on rd :thumb:
they use vans tradies utes pickup trucks, and old toyotos, u name it they put there polis or gatso in, and the equipment they buy comes from revenue raised, the full circle

They only do that to check calibration on speed camera to save them having to get a duty car with calibrated speedo to run through to confirm speed camera accuracy as is SOP.
