Starting on Firmware 5.1.3 (Releasing shortly) BT module users will now have the capability to update to the latest firmware using the ALP Connect App running on an Android or Apple smartphone which has internet access. To support this feature the BT Chipset needed to be updated and some earlier BT modules will not support this feature.
After the new 5.1.3 Firmware & Matching ALP Connect updates are available you will now see a Firmware Update button in the settings screen of ALP Connect:
4519
When you click the Firmware Update button the system will tell you if your equipment supports this feature:
4520
If you receive the above message your BT Module does not support firmware updating.
All BT modules purchased in 2015 should support this feature but older ones will not have the capability.
If you have a supporting BT module you will receive the following Terms & Conditions Message:
4521
Once you read the Terms and hit the Agree Button you will get a Captcha math problem just like what occurs on the regular ALP Update website:
4522
Once you answer the Math question and hit the OK button the download and transfer will begin and you will see a status bar that will show the progress from 0 to 100%.
4523
This process will take around 10 minutes to complete but during this process the ALP System will still run and operate 100% normal. You will still have defense mode and the system will work normally so you do not have to sit there and wait. Once the download and transfer is complete you will see the Firmware Updating Icon and status bar.

Tim will take care of you but the period that AL is willing to update units at no cost (Shipping Charges Only) is limited so dont wait until the last minute. AL will send out an email to all users on Monday with the details and new firmware will be available the same time.

To those that have capable BT modules the current firmware release due out tonight will also be available via the firmware update button on the Android ALP Connect app.

Good morning
Here are some ALP Connect & BT Module questions
Is the APPLE connect version that allows firmware updates up & running yet?
The reason I ask is that all attempts I've made to access it have failed to even show the "Update Firmware" button on the Alp Connect screen.
All other aspects of Alp Connect were working at the time
In a further attempt to access the updates I removed & reinstalled ALP Connect on my i-phone.
This has resulted in ALP Connect no longer accessing my Bluetooth Module & controlling the Alp System.
The Hi Fi Controller still works, and I have confirmed that there are no wiring problems between the BT, Hi Fi, & the Controller
Is there something about the reinstall of the AP that would cause this?
The version date is the same at 1.9
I'm pretty certain the BT Module is an older one BTW.
If it, is can it still be turned in for an newer one?
On the BRD website the Blue Tooth Module is not currently for sale.
Having read your comments iabout a new version coming soon, I assume that is the reason.
What are the features and improvements in the new version?
Any thoughts on price & availability would be helpful as well.
Thanks
Ed

I bought my unit from East CoastInstallers mid summer this year and he installed it. I get the "module not supported" message for bluetooth updartes. What is the best way to send it back for repair? I'm not even sure where it is intstalled (interior or exterior). The usb plug is in the fuse box.
