So this has happened twice now, first time I thought it was a fluke, second time happened yesterday and now I am concerned. What happened was I would start the car, get an "Error 2, check cables or defective sensor" message so I turn it off then back on which takes care of the error but now my voice pack is gone and I just get beeping instead of voices. Restarting does not work and the only way to fix it is to reapply the voice pack. Anyone experience this before?

If you are getting an error 2 you should find out which head is causing it. Unplug all your heads and plug in each head individually and test them to determine which head is causing the error.

Error 2 is most likely interference and instead of turning the system off you should just drive and see if it clears itself normally if it does not stop then you have a sensor that might be failing. After you installed the system did you perform a factory reset so the ALP can learn all the attached sensors and their positions? If you do this and a sensor fails you will get a sensor error instead and the ALP will point you to the failing sensor. If you never performed the factory default after the install pull a statistics report and verify that it shows all sensors are attached. I have never seen anyone have to re-install a voice pack after an Error 2 but maybe because you shut it down during the error it had something to do with it.

I believe I did a reset because I followed the install instructions I found on here, and I would test the head individually but it only happens once in a while. The time before this was over 3 weeks ago and it happened while I was driving and would not stop until I turned off the system. I will try a factory reset and reapply the updates and see what happens.
