I understand this does not test an ALP system but it should do possibly 3 things (imo) - See if system detects 905nm laser diode at all. See if each sensor detects anything independently and finally maybe see if system can validate what type of device is what hit with. So for my $40, I was hoping to get that and I did for the most part but my question is why add buttons on the remote that don't work? The Atlanta, Riegl, Laveg and Unknown buttons don't set off alarms at all!? Is this normal? I search for answers on that but had to ask..... Thanks!

Riegl and Laveg are overseas guns that the US version of ALP likely isn't programmed to jam. ALP also doesn't alert to unknown gun. That leaves Atlanta (Laser Atlanta), which it should have alerted to.

Perhaps the tester isn't precise enough for the ALP to interpret as a real gun? If the PPS rate is a bit off, the ALP won't alert to it.

I built my own tester with 15 pulse rates, crystal clocked, and was able to successfully trigger an ALP with it, when I hooked up with another member here for testing. I didn't try Riegl and Laveg with it though to see if it alerted to them.

Antilaser makes a tester too, recently improved, and BRD sells them. Might be worth an "upgrade."
