The last radar detector I owned was the passport years ago - and at the time it was the best you could get. But times have changed.

A long time ago in a place far away I had my heart set on a a 911. The wife want a grocery getter and our compromise was a CLK cab Kompressor. Back then I was living in Europe and things were pretty lax. (dont even think about the EU with out a detector and something to warn you about cameras - they are everywhere)

Moved back to the States and picked up a new to me 996 cab. I had been looking at getting a detector and been doing a little research just because I know it would be a matter of time before a LEO and I did not share the same ideas about how to have fun. And then yesterday after hours at my desk I decided it was time to cross over into NY and take some winding roads to run a few errands and you guessed it. Fortunately the occifer let me off and told me to slow it down. Maybe with the temp tags he understood that after being cooped up all day I needed to blow off a little steam. I would never expect to be so fortunate all the time. So it is time to pull the trigger. Its getting warm and the roads are free of snow and a sunny day just begs for some fun.

I am about to start the process of upgrading my head unit to a double din Kenwood DNX 892 and like the idea of the AL priority with the STI-R receiver. Since the LEO spent a fair bit of time looking at the front of my vehicle, I am not so sure he would have appreciated seeing something hanging from the window. So I am seriously concerned about concealment. Also what would really be a big plus is if the setup could be integrated with my DNX892 either through cable or bluetooth.

Any help is much appreciated - unfortunately I cant search the forums yet as I dont have those permissions.

You should be able to search the forum. If you are looking for a complete integration the ALP can connect to the Beltronics STI-R Plus or Escort 9500ci Receiver.

Not to sure about integration with your head unit or not, but a 5 head ALP with an integrated 9500CI head and you will be good to go. The 9500CI head unit is a little better in sensativity in all Radar bands compared to the STi-R head. Post up some pictures when you are ready and we can help you with the placement of your CM system.
