My buddy just had his new ALP installed and it's not booting. In fact, it's a weird clicking noise. Here's a video. Any ideas what this could be?

Try starting it up with USB drive inserted with Control Set firmware on the drive.

I had him do that. Hifi control set firmware, cpu firmware, and setup

I now have him plugging in the Bluetooth module and seeing if it will boot up with the BT module. If it'll allow him to do that, he just might be able to get all the firmware installed on it and get it working.

To update the controller he needs to have the controller connected. If this is a new install the BT will not be recognized until he first updates the system with the controller.

HiFi control set firmware needs to be loaded with a voice pack before it will operate normally.

Ok, going to try that now. Thanks Tom.

Ok, HiFi back in and only HiFi update and Voicepack on the USB. Clicking has stopped, no LEDs blinking at all.

Update the CPU Firmware and load a settings file.

If HiFi is not turning on check power cables and all connections.

Ok, so Hifi control set plugged in. Now it's three fast chirps, then a pause, then three fast chirps, repeated.

Did he do a factory reset after the install and before any files were loaded in?

He never was able to do a factory reset. It never stopped clicking.

Could it be the 3 clicks and the red light being that he has a faulty sensor and just no voicepack or hifi firmware to tell him so?
The way the audio shop mounted things, it's hard to access, and it's late, so he's going to try again later to disconnect all the sensors and see if the CPU will boot up at all.

Verified all connections and power. Still doing nothing but clicking. You can't even turn it off by holding power button on the control set. When you hold the power button down, it just clicks faster. When you plug the USB in with firmware, it does nothing but continue clicking. No behavior change.

Hey This is just a thought, Load everything from fresh, Delete all programs on the USB drive and only load 1 voice pack, IDK if you loaded male and female. It sounds like there is a problem with the voice pack... Im NOT an expert but just trying to help....
Also if your using the HiFI make sure you use the Voice pack and if you using the Key Fob then dont down load the voice pack... I dont think that you can have both of them on there, Just one or the other

Looks like you might have corrupted the firmware on the unit because you did not allow it to fully load. The HiFi Update files will flash multiple colors for just over 5 minutes before it will reboot itself but in your first video you disrupted it by starting the car while it was still loading. Try doing it again and give it time to load properly.

Tom, we never had a chance to load any firmware. From the second it was first powered on it's been doing this. And I had him leave the USB plugged in and running for 15 minutes and it still hasn't changed anything.
Different things we've done:
Voice pack and Hifi Control Set firmware only.
Voice pack, Hifi Control set firmware, CPU firmware
CPU firmware only (verified Serial number too)
Reformat drive, all of the above again.
New USB drive, all of the above again.
Bluetooth module connected, all of the above.
We've given more than enough time. Last night I timed it while we were on a Facetime call and the USB was plugged in for 13 minutes one time. Still nothing.

HiFi unit or CPU is screwed up. Your friend will have to contact his dealer or us if he purchased it directly to get a replacement.

He purchased it directly from you. He'll be contacting you in about a week when he gets back from the trip he just left on to swap out the CPU.
He wanted me to thank you guys for the troubleshooting help, especially on the weekend.
Your buddy is lucky to have such a dedicated friend , you did all that was possible .
Out of curiosity : was the system tested before the install ?
