Just took my newly received AL Priority GPS Antenna to my Pro Installer to connect to my AL Priority Quad w/HiFi System, which he previously installed. He asked if the ALP GPS Antenna was waterproof, as he wants to install it next to the STiR Plus GPS Antenna, which is installed inside the front plastic bumper. The STiR Plus GPS Antenna obtains excellent GPS signals in its present location. The location will probably never see water, but the location is outside of the waterproof interior of the car.
So...is the AL Priority GPS Antenna Waterproof ? Must it be installed inside the car's interior, or can it be installed in a position that is most likely 99% water free ? I have not been able to find any information regarding the waterproof capabilities of the ALP GPS Antenna.
Thank you.

Are you correct in stating that the GPS antenna for the ALP system is NOT waterproof ?
Per another forum member's post, in the ALP GPS Antenna thread, he refers to http://elecomes.com/article.php?id=31 in which the manufacturer states that the GPS antenna IS waterproof.
Is this Elecome GPS antenna the GPS antenna I purchased from BRD a couple weeks ago ? My pro installer needs to know if it is waterproof, or if it is not waterproof, so that he knows if he can install it outside the car's interior (behind front plastic bumper cover).
Thanks.

Antenna is designed to be mounted on or in the dash. It also comes with a 9FT cable which would not be long enough to mount in the bumper. Have you installer install in the center dash panel.
