I have an Acura TL (2006) I only have a Escort 9500ix with Escort live. Haven't decided on 3 or 4 ALP sensors (2 in front, 1 or 2 in back). Not a lot of options to mount 2 due to the way the trunk lid is made. Looking at getting the Bluetooth module and possibly the GPS module. Also I was curious on what price I should expect for having it installed on this car. Any ideas or help anyone could give would be much appreciated. TIA
The 9500ix seems to work good on X, K and Ka bands but of course it's not great on laser. Would this detector work ok in conjunction with a ALP system?

no point in doing 1 sensor in the rear. at least 2 per side to protect you. your trunk lid is fine for 2 sensors. lots of people do it with similar ones. personally i would just get the hifi kit and not worry about the BT or GPS part.
Its super easy to do yourself but a good install will be a few hundred dollars.
No radar detector should be used for laser really because if its getting an alert on laser they already have your speed and youre toast anyway. with the ALP its not needed.

^^^^^What tawwwd Said^^^^^^ 2 Front/ 2 Rear and go with the HI-FI set, the speaker is very loud and everything is out of your way, it will give you detailed report on front/rear hit and what gun is being used!

If you go to the trouble of doing a rear install, you might as well do the wiring for two heads, since it is (in most cases) such a (dis-assembly/reassembly) )project. You don't want to do it twice (unless you're really bored and have a lot of time to kill ;-) )
As Rob ^^^^ mentioned, it depends where you drive.

Thanks a lot for the pics! I was gonna just put one in the back right above the LP, I thought the area would be to small for two sensors. If two there cover better than one then I'll go with two. So you guys saying no to the BT module don't use the ALP connect app on the iphone?

You NEED 2 heads in the rear of any vehicle, One will not protect you enough. We are not saying not to use BT, I have both and love both but you can only use one at a time and as of now I prefer the HI-FI set up so I dont have to rely on my Iphone! The BT module works great.

The TL's are great for jammer set ups, my 9500CI install here may give you some ideas: http://radarandlaserforum.com/showthread.php/3929-Escort-9500CI-review
If you can spend the extra, 2 heads up front and 2 rear are recommended, but i did only put one head on my new Mazda 3 install: http://radarandlaserforum.com/showthread.php/5163-2014-Mazda-3-ultimate-CJR-install since i never really get shot in the rear and i did it more for testing purposes. That rear placement tawwwd recommended should do the trick.
My install shop (NY) by me doesn't charge much to install, but it can depend on how you want it installed. I would guess it should cost from $3-500. In my Mazda3 install which is a short car i needed to extend the rear head cable because it was too short so do some measurements.

Here is the 9500ix with escort live and I have a holder for my iPhone. So I thought the BT would be the way to go since I've already been using the escort live on my phone.

So I guess I should buy two sensor extension cables for the rear sensors?

I only mention the cable extensions because it was such an issue on my hatchback making custom extensions on the spot. And though my TL is much longer since it has a trunk it shouldn't be as bad. But definitely measure from where the CPU to the rear trunk accounting for hiding the wires and you will have an idea if the cable is long enough. Using a long string will give you a better idea.
There should be a cover above your feet that can be removed and the ALP CPU can be placed there then run the cables back for the rear head. My old ZR4 rear had a very long cable compared to the ALP and so I had no issues. There should also be a grommet above and to the left of the break peddle where the front head wires can be slipped through the fire wall.
I am going to run a dedicated phone for the BT connection, it communicates the information and info better.

Yeah, I'm really tore on what to get now. I guess I could just get the hifi for ALP and use the 9500ix and escort live for GPS and display. Would you suggest a kill switch or does the auto kill (after 4 sec I think?) work pretty good?

Other than the beeping and blinking to communicate from the key pad its not bad alone. I'm holding out in hopes ALP makes the BT and key pad work together at some point. It still jams and communicates well with the key pad only. No need for a kill switch when a press of any button on the key pad kills the jammers.

Not to conflict with CJ I run with a kill switch just personal find it better than tapping fone

I assume your are talking about the BT and using AP connect on your phone?

Went ahead and put my order in for the ALP system with 4 sensors, Bluetooth module and 2 extension cables. I may try to sell my 9500ix with EL and get the AL RG module + STi-R plus reciever next.

Nope just the keypad only. I don't actually have the Bluetooth module yet.

Perfect I say, I would go with the 9500CI ant as its is much better than the Sti-R ant head though~~

It has the better LNA set up ( Low noise amplifier) in the 9500 and it detects better on all bands, peeps have tested it here on the forum and agree (I think) its the better head to go with at the moment.

Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to getting ALP shipped here and installed. I have to start getting some ideas on where I'm going to put everything, as far as placement of control box, BT, etc. I also want to make it where its very easily converted over to parking sensor.

Can you use the 9500CI without the shifters and just with the ALP?

You can run a 9500ci without shifters but a 9500CI will not integrate with an ALP, They would operate independent of each other.

If you dont care about GPS Lockouts you can get the Radar Package with the 9500ci Antenna.

Then you would want to just add the 9500 CI antenna to the ALP. You will not need the whole 9500 CI package. BRD sells the 9500 CI antenna separately that will connect to the ALP.

No. The Bluetooth module allows you to connect to your phone.
The 9500 CI is an Independent system sold by Escort with jammers and radar detector as well as the display.
However you can buy the module to connect just the Radar portion (M3 antenna) of the 9500 CI to your ALP.
So instead of buying an entire 9500 CI system as well as an ALP system, all you're doing is buying the ALP, 9500CI radar head (M3 antenna) and the module to connect it.

I assumed with the RG module that the Beltronics 975, Beltronics STi-R Plus would interface. Interesting, thank you!

Yes the STI-R+ and the 9500CI radar heads work perfectly with the ALP, not just the 9500 :))
