AL Priority 4 head system (Just arrived today! Yet to be installed)
Midland 75-822 Mobile CB Radio with Midland 18-2442 antenna
FLIR PathFindIR system running into BMW Navigation
Custom iPad mount for running Waze, etc.
Garmin nüvi 3597LMTHD
TomTom running TripMaster v3.1
iPhone 6 running ALPConnect, V1Connection, Speed Tracker
Custom Raspberry Pi based SDR system as trunking scanner and ADS-B ground station to find bears in the air (Coming soon, currently working out the bugs)
Feel free to ask any questions about the setup or post any suggestions.
I'm currently #3 on the records list for the NY to LA drive with a time of 31 hours, 17 minutes, and I currently hold the North/South transcontinental record, going from the Canadian Border at the Windsor Tunnel in Detroit to Pensacola Beach, FL with a time of 11 hours, 44 minutes. That drive was done solo.

Here's the records list. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PwFTTYfmOPap4F-RMrWR2b3wWh1cCznoC9U8M-qd3Pg/edit#gid=0) Ed Bolian, the current record holder, also mentions me on his site, as does Alex Roy, currently #2 on the list.

And thanks for the welcome. As far as wanting to see more curmudgeon, once I get the ALP installed and the Pi finished, I'll post up some info. I'm also throwing around the idea of adding an STiR+ antenna to the ALP. I'm just trying to figure out why it's less than half the price of a full system and what the difference between just the horn and the full system is from a protection standpoint.

Neat! Now my next question is how did you do it?

Full Sti-R Plus comes with a lot of components that are not needed if you just want to add radar alerts to your ALP. See this thread for an idea of what the install looks like.

Do you guys offer a deal to forum members? Also, will it be possible to integrate both the STi-R+ antenna and the V1 when the new module comes out? I was told earlier this week that the 2nd gen RG module is expected this spring, so I ended up canceling my order for it when I ordered the ALP. It's not a deal breaker if I can't do both, but it would be a nice feature, especially since you get the best of both worlds with those two detectors.

BRD can better answer this, but I do believe the V1 integration is set to launch this spring as you mentioned. And yes, there are forum discounts. BRD is the man to contact.

No, You cant connect more than one radar detector or radar antenna to an ALP.

Would you suggest continuing to hold off until the new RG module comes out to pick up the STi-R+ antenna and module?

If you want the Sti-R Plus Antenna to work with the ALP there will be no change in operation with the current RG Module. The newer RG Module V2.0 coming is only changed to support for some newer functionality with V1 ESP detectors. We can also do 9500CI antenna integrations for a few extra bucks since many have said the 9500ci Antennas have superior detection range.

I would definitely choose the 9500CI over the Plus.

Well, I just went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. 9500CI antenna, RG Module, and the GPS Antenna. Thanks again BRD. No one out there can touch your customer service!

Welcome to the forum. I look forward to hearing the many stories about your adventures.
When it comes to RDs. I am no longer a fan of the Belscort remote mounts. I have personally experienced and seen many reports on the forums of quality control issues resulting in poor performancing or non-functional RDs. My favorite RDs are the V1 with YaV1 and the Redline. Unless you must have a remote installed RD, I don't recommend them and wouldn't purchase another one myself.

Well, we're gonna find out. I know that Ed Bolian and crew used a 9500CI in conjunction with forward and rear facing V1's on their Cannonball. I'm planning a different run later this year, but it's still about 2400 miles and I want to have more protection than I had with just my two V1's.
