Can the parking detection be turned on and off with the control set? There are occasions I like to park very close to a wall or tucked into a space as far as I can get to keep from being clipped by unobservant drivers and I turn my parking detection range from off to 1, however, I can not get it back to disabled after that so it will sit there and beep for 15 minutes until the car shuts off aux power. Is there a way to turn that on and off real quick? I do not like turning the ALP completely off when I get out of the car because I am afraid I will forget to turn it back on when I get back in.

Just set GPS to low setting, anything under the set speed just becomes a parking sensor

I don't have the gps, and that would not solve my problem. I want to turn it off because I use it to park very close to things but then it will just keep beeping for the next 15 minutes until my car turns off power to the ALP or I back up some which defeats the purpose I am using it for. I want to be able to turn it on and off quick if possible, if it could replace the foglight function, it would be perfect since we don't use that in the US.

You can mute it with a short press of the POWER button (and unmute it with another short press), but there's no way to stop the LEDs from flashing other than reprogramming it with a USB flash drive or switching it off.

Will it still be muted when I get back in the car or does it reset after the power goes off? This may work for what I want it for as long as it is not still muted when I get back in.

It stays in whatever state you last had it in, even through a power cycle.
