To make sure they were compatible we tested a 9500CI using the 3 major KA Radar's and tested to make sure the BS Settings are the same as the Sti-R Plus settings.

For example we took a Stalker 34.7 unit and loaded the Sti-R Plus settings with Segments 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10 eliminating 5 (34.592 - 34.808) and sure enough the 34.7 shot did not alert. They we retested with all segments off except 5 (34.592 - 34.808) and now it alerts. We verified each of the common KA ranges and they are exactly the same as the Sti-R Plus settings.

It turns out the 9500CI Heads supported Band Segmentation all along but we just never tested one before. If you want to use a 9500CI Antenna you can connect it to the ALP RG Module and just use the Beltronics Sti-R Plus settings.

The MTR Version of 9500ci is also compatible with ALP.

Isn't the 9500ci antenna $100 more?

Curious to see tests of the 9500ci antenna vs. the STI-R plus antenna using the ALP radar module. Some people claim the wire bonded LNA on the 9500ci antenna increases sensitivity, so more curiosity than anything else on whether or not it makes a real difference.

Would definitely like to know the answer to this - about to purchase in near future.

The 9500CI Radar Package will be priced $100 more than the Beltronics one. We have some on order but these special orders can sometimes take a few weeks.

And priced more as they are better?

And priced more as they are better?

Priced more because they cost us more. If they cost the same the price would be the same.

Just wanted to check as your stir package (antenna and R/G unit) is $499, with the R/G unit costing $90. But you can buy the 9500ci antenna for $399 from Escort?

That is also just the head and then you have to buy the wiring, mounting brackets, screws, etc. all sold separately. Then we need to make some sort of profit or why bother selling it and warrantying it ourselves because Escort will not warranty the head if purchased directly and not used in a 9500CI unit. There are lots of costs involved that you just do not realize when you look at one figure.

Does the 9500CI head have TSR and all of the other goodies that the STiR+ has?

Not sure if the very old ones did but all the recent ones definitely supported TSR. Don't remember when Escort added TSR to the 9500ci's. I know the original Sti-R Originals did not have it but it was added later on.

Why the sarcasm? If someone in your own country steps up to that plate great but why the sarcasm towards us for being a US Dealer and abiding by our dealer contracts to only ship in our territory?

I wouldn't use sarcasm, but, in Canada, we get royally screwed when buying items from anyone up here. Even when the dollar was even with the US dollar, we were still paying a 10-40% premium on prices of all CM's. We'd rather buy from BRD directly, at least I know, I would. Alex at kmph is great for service and support, but his prices are really, really high unfortunately.

And I would have no issue servicing you guys but its not the cards I was dealt. I have contracts with the manufactures and I have to abide by those contracts so my hands are tied. If anyone has any questions on this subject they can contact me to discuss but there is no need to be sarcastic towards us for doing what we are allowed to do in the country that we reside.

1. BRD's hands are tied legally wrt to selling outside the USA
2. Equally important, he's a man of honor and is ethical in all his business dealings (customers, other distributors, and even competitors). This should be respected by everyone here. Tom's integrity means far more to me personally than any discounts he's given me, appreciated as they are.

First off, I didn't see it on Alex's site so the basis for the comment was thinking you were the only one offering it. I've talked to Alex and hes explained the situation which I completely understand how hard it is for retailers in Canada. It is what it is!

BUT like any consumer we want options. RE: Sick of having my wallet raped.

I prefer local, but when you can't even come close to the same pricing I have a hard time justifying it.

Are you Canadians able to order directly from Escort? Or will they refer you to the Canadian dealers?

same here in Oz, but for some reason the Stinger is way cheaper , than in US, http://www.dontgetcaught.com.au/radardetectors.html but it dosent matter what u buy tv cm,s, to many fingers in the pie before it gets to the actual retailer, and the retailers have no control over things
