Hello from the Foothills of NC. I am a newb to the site but a fellow junkie. I currently run a Sti-R/08 civic coupe since 08 and revised .855 to .894 V1/YaV1 as my setup for my other vehicles. I've been active on the other sites and come realizing that I am late to dance. I hope to help where I can and learn along the way. With work, traveled many miles and have been in most of the US and parts of Canada. Thanks for the knowledge source you provide.

Sorry sent the pictures but missed the question about the unit, it is the "O" not the + 2,5,8 on RDR off. I tucked it up there for Va. traveling and has saved me enough to buy boatload of "stingers". The original rocks as we all know and the ci is getting ready to with band segmentation. Hope the pictures helped.

I did not have to cut anything other than the light fixture in front and I used a dremmel tool for that. I took the lens covers off the overhead light and then removed the light fixture 2 screws. pulled it down and unplugged it. The head liner already is shaped in front of the RVM so I inserted the STI R antenna and then took the light fixture and figured how much had to be removed for the back of the antenna to fit. Set the mounting bracket on the unit not tight drilled holes in the roof support and mounted then leveled the unit and tightened it up. I noticed that the unit when placed caused a slight gap on either side so I then took a couple pieces of foam cut them in a long wedge made sure they closed the visual gap then bought a piece of black felt(WalMart $2.00) and glued it to the face of the foam and put them on both sides of the antenna so visually it looked factory. Ran the antenna lead down the door pillar and hooked up to the fuse box and ground. I did change the amperage on the fuse in the fuse box to 20 amp to avoid any electrical interference but left the in-line fuse as is for the unit. PM me so I can help. I also can give you a simple switch idea for your daytime driving lights. I don't know if the headliners are the same also the little wrap around the head is grey weather stripping then colored with magic marker. I also used a piece of felt above the unit to block visual and it reduced laser falsing.

This is why i think my CI is getting killed... and also why i want to move it, I was planning to put it in the honey cobm part of the grill but it is too long and will not fit ......

Whenever you move it, flip the receiver. The way you have it now is upside down.

Thanks Salty, going to point that out and how do you have that stabilized? If you could flip it and move it one slot up on the grill it might save a full pull. It should help it a bunch make sure it's firm and level. If you want to go the other way I'm here to help.

And just trying to get that unit maxed, the band segment coming will make it beastly. That position might work just fine so moving the head out a little and leveling it out could give some real gains.

LoL no i blew it from being stealth, I have the 2 alps and the 2 zr4s and ci head LoL so there is NO way to hid my things .. I am going to move the head up 1 slot in a little while. The reason i have to cut is because the slot above has a plastic back to it.... so in order to get it to fit i would have to cut...
Brownout thank you for the help
I will post a video of the speed sign range if its still there.
