One question for you Tom ,

for curiosity sake , can we revert to the ''old'' control module once the new firmware ''HIFi'' has been installed ?

My guess is no .

I guess we can revert to the old control module if we re-install the old firmware ...right ?

Could be a good B plan to diagnose a problematic install.

Firmware is installed in the control module. At any time if you want to go back to the other control module just switch them. No firmware needs to be changed.

Yeah, 5 minutes feel like an eternity when waiting. I can't tell you how many times in my line of work I've had someone complain that something takes "10 seconds" when it actually took 3 seconds.

Installed mine as well. The update procedure was lengthy but worked out great. I love having the voice, and the speaker is so loud that even burying it in an under seat compartment is still plenty loud at volume 1 or 2.

My only wish/suggestion is that it should still say the gun name after a fast JTK. It seems like if I JTK before the gun announcement happens, it won't happen and will just say "Detection Only"

Yes Tom i watched the video, What threw me was that the LED was flashing different colors then when in your video.... Maybe i missed it in the thread about the colors changing... But i tested it out and everything works, Now i just have to learn the menu for the Key pad since, day one i have had the B/T Mod hooked up..
But i did get a chance to play around with it and raise.. or should i say lower the volume, I was not expecting it to be that loud LoL
Again TOM Thank you for all you do for this community :thumbs2:

Just hooked mine up, took maybe 20 minutes, 15 of those were figuring out where to put the speaker though haha. Ended up using zip ties and mounting it to the bottom of the driver seat. Very clear sound and small package so you can mount it pretty much anywhere. I put all the files on at once and it failed to update the control set, had to remove the firmware file and do it again but that worked. Very pleased with it! Thanks again for the awesome deal BRD

It's amazing what he does for this community. He stepped up to the plate along with AntiLaser and gave us something that will work and keep us protected for the future.

This is the most amazing product. My main complaint was always not having the voice like on LI. Now with this Hifi module I am super excited and pumped to have this great system. The voices are amazingly clear and it's just great.

Tom you are to be commended on a job well done and for delivering this when our community needed it most.

Some of the members think that CPU V2 will be able to connect both HiFi and ALPconnect and switch between them, probably with another module? Any truth behind that?

I have a V2 and it utilizes the same port so unless they change the connection I don't see how this would be possible.

Installed and working great!!! It took exactly 5 minutes for programming. Easy to navigate through menus now. Easy to adjust volume also. I have my speaker (inside and behind my dash/can't be seen), and it is plenty loud at level 2 out of 5.

Your not pressing and holding both at the time time and there are only 2 buttons on the control set, Press and hold both at the same time.

I didn't know how to get to laser menu until I messaged Tom last night. You have to keep holding the menu button until it comes up. The first menu is the basic.

They are not offered here in the US and they are older G9 heads which would not support the newer guns used here in the US but they are still popular overseas.. Check out this video with a user that has a set of the Fog Light sensors installed:

Upgrade price has not been nailed down yet because we wont know exact final costs until we get the shipment and calculate freight and all import & customs fee's but to show our appreciation for the early adopters we expect to intro it around $59.95 to existing customers. We will only have 100 available at a special upgrade price. The upgrade will only be available to existing registered users and once we run out the price will move to $99.95 which will be the regular price for all new purchasers adding the option to new ALP systems in January when the new retail bundles are available.

There are less than 10 available at the upgrade price if anyone who was considering one still wants one now is the time.

I figured out the volume finally--I wasn't HOLDING the two buttons until it went into vol mode, I was just pressing/releasing.

I went to Dim mode as well, instead of dark because I wanted to see my control pad light ON, knowing I had power to it--in dark mode I kept wondering if it was powered on lol

You buy new ones with or without HiFi. It does not effect a new install any differently. If you have HiFi you install the HiFi normally.

I have the BT module now. Is the Hi-Fi a better choice than ALP Connect? I've been very frustrated with the BT module and my iPhone 6 with the connection continually being dropped. Worked fine with my iPhone 5. Do people here that have both use the ALP Connect BT module over the Hi-Fi module or the other way around?

iPhone 6 issue is coming to an end soon. We are waiting for iOS 8.2 to be released and then we will release a new ALP Connect V1.9 that will work with the new IOS to solve the connection issues.

I've run both and prefer the HiFi module. I like that it's one less thing in your dash, no worries about phone batteries going dead, needing to plug in a phone or automate the startup/sleep process if it's a dedicated phone, etc. It just works.

I do like the visual confirmation of the gun ID though on the phone when you get shot, frequency display for radar, and history of most recent guns you encountered for easier review.

Out of curiosity, what would have happened if you got a LIDAR hit at the same time as a radar hit on YaV1? Does the ALP Connect app pop up over the YaV1 window, or does the later alert take priority, and if so, would that prevent you from JTKing?

haha, you'd probably get ALP Connect popping up with YaV1 overlaying on top of that. You can still access ALP Connect just fine as long as you tap outside of the overlay. I see this happen when I'm trying to use Waze while YaV1 is popped up. I have to press around it or wait for the overlay to go away. Fortunately the ALP app lets you tap anywhere so you can still JTK just fine.
