Just wondering if you can do KA band segmentation if you use the R/G module with an STI-R receiver? I assumed the answer was no but figured I'd ask just in case

You are incorrect. You can not only do band segmentation but you have RDR, TSR, POP toggles as well. View the ALP Update site and choose the Sti-R Plus as a connected antenna and you will see all the options available:

2887

If you click on the Bands you will see the Segmentation Options:

2888

Oh snap! I have never selected it so I didn't know that. Looks like I'll be picking on of those up in the future.

I am getting one for Christmas. I am just not happy with the MAX and off access. I am quite excited to get one. I asked the wife and she actually said yes.

Have you had close calls with the Max?? Someone told me once that the STIR-Plus antenna has better range when hooked up to the ALP brain than with plus brain. I have yet to see any testing on paper for this though.

I have the STIR plus and really like it.

My plan is to run both at the same time. So I should be able to see how much more range the STIR head can achieve. I have had a couple close KA calls with the MAX but all and all it's solid. My area has a lot of Red Light cameras so it's very useful. Honestly so many people have raved about STiR I want to give it a shot. I will post some videos after Christmas to show any range difference of the two. I don't think they will interfere with each other as the MAX will be inside upper windshield and the STIR is going to be outside lower grill.

I just got my STi-R head for my ALP and would be willing to do some testing (after I install it of course). My plan for it is to heavily modify the bands too. X-Off; K-3, K-4, K-5; Ka= N2, N5, N8

You'd better get her something nice for Xmas as well ;-)

She really is awesome. I plan to get her something nice. Any woman that will drive up and down the street so I can shoot the car with "laser guns" is a good woman.

My lady has done the same. She even JTKed me the first time and I was freaking out thinking my jammer was bad. She was like, "well you told me to always turn it off no matter what when I get an alert." Lol

I was proud.

She obviously has a great teacher! Although, you did mention something about getting speed down below PSL before killing, I hope.

A gal that puts up with countermeasures, and listens!?! She have a sister? :roflmfao:

Back on-topic though, I do plan on doing some testing when time permits, Uni makes that a bit hard. I should have some interesting encounter-videos though...
