Gps not Working

ok any body had gps not working just showing a white icon ,showing 0 km/ph, ok yesterday, if i un plug from the module, it announces gps not connected, so cpu knows it should be there

GPS does not have anything to do with the app showing zero. The APP pulls speed from your iPhone.

Dink - did you update the firmware on that new CPU Tim sent you, or check its on the latest firmware ?

Yeh 4.4.1 if thats the latest, did a factory reset when first installed, did the controller also, was working fine before, one strange thing is, there is no antenna plus connected but shows
Highway in a green color, but that was there when it was working

GPS does not have anything to do with the app showing zero. The APP pulls speed from your iPhone.
Changed nothing but will drop the app and re load it, the GPS icon is there but it's in white and flashes at first as normal and then is static , usually colored

Nah no change blinks locks but still not working still white icon showing GPS
Just a wild shot wonder if this is linked to the replacement cpu

App is now 1.7 thus small icon changes, which personally I don't like.
Go into settings privacy and check you have location services on for the App
Somehow, it switched off or possibly asked for location services when updated, but assuming, like me, you did not notice and said no and switched it off accidentally. Do that and will work

As Abarth says, thats why the GPS lock icon is white now.

been running for a few days now, every time i disconnect and reconnect its lost the activation thingy in the app the gps works fine but read zero all the time unless i do the connect in the privacy thing ,but it wont lock it for the next time u switch on its gorn , but gps works changes from yellow car to blue, and zero km/ph,guess its apple app unless some knows a fix

I've avoided upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S, as I've read it doesn't really have the horsepower to run it well.

Sounds like I made a good move staying on iOS 7.1.2 - all working fine and smoothly with the latest ALPConnect

Nope, doing it on mine as well. It's not keeping the always allow setting for some reason. Is yours connecting and disconnecting all the time as well and not staying in defend mode?
Hopefully when 8.1 is finalised it will be fixed. frustrating😝

Mines stayed in defense mode, once the little car changes from yellow to blue, set at 30kmph,it changes over but 0 on the kph,

Thanks BRD. I overlooked that part sorry. I did that and sure enough it wasn't set to always so I fixed it. Thanks for the help. Its going to take just a bit to get used to this Iphone.

I have a 4S coming to use as dedicated display so I will have to make sure it is set as well.

Also make sure you have notifications enabled so if its in the background you will get notifications pop up.

I noticed that randomly my alp went to parking mode only. I think it got disconnected.

Well iOS 8.1 has not fixed the location services issue, nor the constant dropping connection with the Bluetooth module.
On the car side, I no longer have phone connection issues so Apple have fixed that, so is the fault on Apples side still or is it the App needs an update?

Not sure I have been having some problems as well. I am just using the regular controller for now. I have a switch to switch back and forth instantaneously between the two which is really great.

I think it is apples problem because previous versions worked perfectly.

I bought a 4s on ebay but the dude didn't erase his account and now I cant download the app or do anything with the stupid thing. I am currently jail breaking it and trying to get in another way. The guy is not responding to me. I got his cell number off this phone and texted him and still nothing. I opened a case against him to try and get his attention.

Is GPS useful for just the ALP system or most useful if using the integrated STiR option? I have the full STiR plus system and am wondering if I would see an benefit with the GPS module.

No If you have the full stir plus unit then you really won't need the GPS module IMO.
