It sets off my passport MAX Laser alert like crazy. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I didn't read about anybody having this type of issue while researching before purchase.
Anyone else have this issue and is the solution to just turn off the laser receiver on the passport? And just rely on the ALP for laser protection and alert?

You're saying your distronics / nannies sets off the laser ?...mine doesn't but I turned off the STiR+ laser detection anyways..not needed with the ALP

I think it's the car setting it off..? Mercedes nannies like distronix, lane assist..

When my ALP come on board it will set my V1 off for a second or 2, well come to think of it everything sets my V1 off from LIdar :beaten: But i would have to agree it has to do with the nanny system in the car

Remember, the AL-P is a FULL Time "parking sensor" even in "Defense" mode.Short micro-bursts of IR occur regularly whenever it is "ON".Also, when just powering-up the AL-P it may send out a longer/stronger burst of IR.I've never actually verified this,if I think of it sometime when it's night time I'll take a look w/ an IR cam.

I have ALP and a MAX. Every time I turn on the ALP when something is directly in front of me, for example, Garage Door, A Wall, Another car or Truck. The MAX will alert for Laser. It will only do it once. I assume it's the bounce back of the ALP starting up.

Sorry guys, I should've provided more detail. You're absolutely correct it's really when I pull into my garage and the park distance control of the ALP is going off. The max picks that up and also when I pull into my stall at work it bounces off the wall. Can I have the max memorize my garage and my work readings for laser at these two locationsand therefore it won't go off?

Nope. Do you have a kill switch on your ALP? I just wait till I get out of the garage and then turn on the ALP. Now the messed up thing is if you have Escort Live and this happens, EL automatically reports it as a Laser Alert.
