Next update due out in around 2 weeks or so will include a new option that will allow you to use a constant on or blinking led to let you know the system is ready and is in defense mode. Many have complained that the Blinking blue light could be distracting so AntiLaser heard the complaint and going forward you will be able to choose to leave the LED on constantly if you choose.

What color will the constant LED be?

Defense = Blue

Everything stays the same but it will blink or stay constant based on your preference. Many people dont like the blinking so they put it in Dark mode but in Dark mode you dont get a nice feeling knowing that the system is on and fully in defense mode. For these people they can keep the steady blue to always know its active and defending without the blinking driving them crazy especially at night.

Perfect..and dimmable too ? See above... There is no change other than Blinking or Not Blinking. Dim mode will turn off the external LED (Until an alert) but keep the control module led on as it does now.

Been running it and I much prefer the non blinking led and prefer to have it constantly lit so I know the ALP is on and running verse Dark Mode where you do not have any indication that all is running).

You will still have the modes you are used to plus two new options:

1. (Default) Control Module (Blinking Blue) + External LED (Blinking Blue)
2. (Dim) Control Module (Blinking Blue) + External LED (Off until an alert)
3. (Dark) Control Module + External LED (Off until an alert)
4. (Constant) Control Module (Solid Blue) + External LED (Solid Blue)
5. (Constant - Dim) Control Module (Solid Blue) + External LED (Off until an alert)

This is a really great feature! Thank you!

Two additional ideas...

Could you have them enable the option to start the unit up in dim mode when it's going through its initial self-test? At night, the LED's are BRIGHT and there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it. The remote LED in particular points right into my eyeballs... :cower:

The second thing, what about an option to run the remote LED in dark mode with the control pad LED in dim mode. Both can start up normally so we know they work, but then the alert LED we place to make sure we can see is dark unless needed while the control pad is there in dim mode to ensure the unit is up and running.

Isn't that just option 5 (Constant - Dim)?

I thought the control pad LED and remote LED were always operating identically. You can get them to operate independently in dim mode?

No. Dim mode uses the control module LED to show that the system is in Defense Mode and keeps the external LED off until there's an alert. It's always been like that. A better name for this mode would have been "Control Module LED Only" mode because "Dim Mode" makes it sound like the LEDs are dimmer than in normal mode, which is just not true. One LED is just as bright as it was in normal mode while the other one is off.

Now that it will be a constant blue light people will be complaining it's too bright. Lol

I had an odd issue the other day my LP started screeching for some reason and when it stopped screeching the blue light was still blinking, no idea what was going on.

FYI... New Setup option on the ALP update site. Must be running latest firmware (4.4.1 or newer) for the LED Feature:

Love this option, this will be much less distracting & obvious after dark on the bike. Thanks to BRD & ALP for listening and responding to users.
