What does short pressing the menu and power button do.
First press of the menu makes sound but no LED blink. 2nd press LED blinks once, 3rd press LED blinks 3 times.
Short press power button LED blinks twice press again LED blinks 3 times?
What do all these mean?

Please do not mess with anything other than what has been described in the manual and on the forums. There are many hidden service menu's available within the ALP that support uses, You can screw up your ALP if you get into some of these service modes without knowing what you are doing. They are hidden for a reason.

So by fog lights do they mean jamming capability?

I pressed the menu button by accident and I didn't know what I did.
So by pressing the menu button once you "disable fog lights" does this give me the ability to KBJ?

During an alert any button will Kill the Jammer when pressed. When in standbuy a short press on the power button turns the parking sensor feature on or off. Long press turns the unit unit.

Yes but what does short pressing the menu button do when you are not in an alert? The manual says fog light on/off.

We dont use the Fog Lights in the ALP Sensors. That was only for users that had old R9 Fog Lamps. It will not have any effect without those heads attached.

Please forgive my ignorance but, I have been operating under the belief that when the ALP is alerting a short press of the power button only mutes the alert but, does not stop the defense function. I thought it required a long press of the power button to completely turn of the jamming action by powering down the unit. I know you can press either the power button or menu button during an alert to disable the defense mode. I'm just not sure how long to press either button.
I was actually lit up for the first time by a LEO a few days ago (PL3).I'll save the details for another thread but, I JTK'd and, he never made a run at me. Chalk up another win for the ALP. But, after the initial hit, in expert mode, I short pressed the power button at first. The Redline then went crazy with another hit. Funny because the high mounted Redline is about a 50/50 proposition when any part of the front of my vehicle is targeted by laser. I then long pressed the power button and the ALP went off. One more short laser alert on the Redline then no other alerts till I passed the LEO. I was at the PL +5 at the first hit so, I just lifted off the gas, no drama.

Short power press during an alert will mute and kill automatically. Long press will shut entire system down.

Shot a quick IR video to confirm for any of you guys that were concerned. Pressing ANY button on the controller during a Laser Alert will immediately kill Jamming. The Alert LED will stay illuminated on the Control Module and the External LED for as long as you continue to be targeted.

Starting with the system powered up but, not in alert, a short press of the power button will disable the defense feature but still allow you to detect a laser hit? Just like when you are in alert?Just want to fully understand.

You are not correct. When in normal operation a short press of the power button activates or disables the parking sensor alerts.

This is awesome! I love this. :)
When you mute the ALP, what sorts of audio/visual alerts are available when you're being shot? I saw the light stayed red for a while and then changed to blue a few sec after you stopped shooting. I'm curious how we can tell how long we continue to be shot and if we get reshot after we JTK.

The light will continue to be red(ft alert) or yellow(rear alert) as long as that is blinking you are being targeted. As soon as its blue again you are ready for more action. I was thinking 60 seconds to rearm but I may be off on that :)

I believe, and Best can correct me on this, that as long as you have your jam time set to unlimited (North America only), there is no reset time. After you've been hit, after it stops flashing red that signifies that you are currently being hit and, then, when the LED flashes blue, signifying you were just hit, at all times, the ALP remains in defense mode and is immediately ready to fire back the appropriate pulse train. This has been the result I get testing with my own laser. You think it would have occurred to me that I could have also tested the other features in my previous two questions, ha, ha! It's nice to get the definitive clarification from BRD though.

If you are in LID = "Unlimited" the LED's will stay illuminated while targeted and go back to Blue when they stop. Once back in Blue if they hit you again you will be in defense mode again. If you have LID = "Time in seconds lets say 4 seconds" after you are no longer targeted the system will not go directly back into defense mode until 60 Seconds later. As Holla had mentioned the LED Color will also be a different color for a Front or Rear hit.
