New member here from Alaska, i have been out of the hobby now for a couple years. I was a member at another forum but seems no one uses that site much anymore more and so after web searching i joined here and the RDF. I have always had some kind of RD and started getting more advanced with it a couple years back with the install of an STIR+ and LI system in my old Mustang. I also use a STI Magnum in my truck and like it a bunch other than it not having BS or GPS, I guess the plus has me spoiled on the features the Magnum dosent have. The lock out gps makes it so good for not falsing the Magnum sometimes drives me nuts :frusty:

I was gone for a while as i sold my fast car (after removing my CM'S) to order up my new car and the first summer with the new car i didnt have time to do a quality install so went naked for a while. I finally commited to installing my STIR/LI on the new car and catching up with the hobby. Here are a few pics of my new install on my 13' GT500.

Display in mirror, auto dimming function intact. My windows are tinted at 20% and with the auto dimming function don't think anyone will notice the display.

Controls in an easy to reach place for me, my last install i hated having to look down at the controls and like this much better.

LI Switch below and right of the steering column, easy to reach for JTK and can still see the green light kinda.

Heads in both upper and lower grills, Radar receiver in upper passenger side inset some but no obstructions in front of it.

I run the Magnum in this truck but might trade in for a Max or Redline

That's what I have been trying to figure out and the only way is to run a system and go hunting lol--they run Lidar a lot in the summer up here, just I have no clue as to what--that's the reason I went ALP because I don't want any surprise guns smoking me--matter of fact I'm about to go for a cruise to the valley and see if I can find something lol.

Maybe its becuase im in the valley but i have only ever seen lidar a handfull of times being used and only in the summer, a couple speed traps in anchorage (APD) when they use to have there motorcycle enforcement and a few times on the glenn hwy (AST) eagle river speed trap area. I have no clue what there using either but i am guessing they dont have the lateset and greatest stuff, just a guess though. I am going to continue with my LI for a while anyway, hopefully it will work for the stuff we have up here for now and possible upgrade to ALP or if LI comes out with something new. Maybe between the two of us we can figure out what there using, i was only ever hit once going thru Eagle river and i was in traffic not speeding and didnt make out the voice alert before i killed it.

That would be awesome, love to test it out. I get home on May 1st from this work shift and plan on putting it on the road then, i only work 1 week in the month of May so maybe we can set something up.

Yep, live in the Valley and work in Prudhoe. My son and I did try racing at the park a few years ago. He started to drive pretty well for a beginner but i crashed to much, we gave up just becuse it was such a long drive for us to come in to town to the track. We still bash them from time to time, i have an eco kit for my Mugen yet to install to give electric a try.

I have some good spots close to the house, ill send you a pm once it gets closer for my work shift on the slope to be over and maybe set something up in May. In the mean time ill research other Lidar for sale and maybe pick something else if i can swing one.

Thanks,

I have not heared of this brand until just a few days ago after joining the forums and catching up on things, its good that the industy is improving. Just too bad i didnt research this any sooner before spending 3 full days on my install lol, oh well. I sure could have used a shorter sensor last week when i was "moddifing" my Shelby grill haha. I am not sure what our threat is up here and with my driving habits i dont see many threats but its still nice to have some protection thats known to work. I might need to make the switch at some point if i find mines not current these days , who is the us distribuitor of these/where to get more info?

A couple of LRB's are up for sale--they are a pretty good gun to test with :) Long as its the 125 pulse rate, serial number begins with UX
