When using the Bluetooth module with an ipod touch or an iphone, can a bluetooth speaker be paired to work in conjunction with the system?

AFAIK you would need to pair the bluetooth speaker to your phone, not to the ALP, since it's the app that generates the sounds.

I meant to say pair both the module and the speaker to the iphone/ipod touch

Yes. It shouldn't be a problem.
I had mine paired to my bluetooth headset through my iphone. Now I have a standalone iPod touch that runs ALP Connect, paired to my headset. I thought about paring the module to a Jambox, but for my needs a headset makes more sense.

YES I do this on my system now. I use a Jabra Freeway paired to my iPod Gen 5. Works like a champ. Loud too!

Main reason I ask,
you can have a wireless speaker hooked up to the ipod and the ALP, so alerts can be played over the Bluetooth speaker.
Or if someone wants to use a BT headset.

Both should work without an issue.
