Hey guys,

New guy here. I'm SovietO from rdf.org, and running CM's in a prohibited province in Canada :)

Look forward to learning something new. Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Is anyone running ALP's around Toronto yet? I spoke with a distributor from BC and he said I can get away with a single head on the front of my sedan (because it's so "high-powered"). A lot of people here say you need a minimum of 2 heads. Can someone clarify this?

DO NOT get a single and I am not sure why any Dealer would tell you otherwise. A Dual is the minimum for any vehicle regardless of how small it is.

To make a sell after buying it they can talk him into buying more heads

That is bad business. Being upfront with your customers is the only way to do business. I could not feel comfortable telling a customer that they would be protected with one head. Especially with the new DragoneEye guns that are all over Canada, you will need a minimum of 2 heads over there.

Donny, look at the bottom of my post & "select" the URL raletc.org -
There you will find our blog site for a Test completed using only 1 Sensor that was done in Sept. 2013.
See for yourself the results. :hopelessness:

Welcome Donny! Check out my install thread. My little Prius has 2 on it and it needed both. I am actually moving to 3 heads soon.

Thanks guys, looks like I need to do more research. It will be a while before I can afford to buy a set-up like that though, is there anything that could be done in the meantime for when laser starts popping up in the city this spring? VEIL, Lasershield, older jammers? I need JTK capability and as much stealth as possible :)

All that you mentioned with help but Passive countermeasures will not protect you from Laser but they can help buy you some precious seconds if your detector is lucky enough to pick it up and alert you and you adjust your speed quickly and safely. The problem with laser is that it is narrow and at around 500ft the width would be 18" or less. If they are aiming at your license plate its very realistic for your detector mounted in your windshield to not see it.

If you DO NOT have protection the only safe thing to do is OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT !
In the Greater Toronto Area it is much to dangerous to speed...even if you have Blinder or LI for protection.I do not know all the f/w versions used by the Police who have Laser Ally Lidar guns there.

Haha wow! I'm shocked. I wonder how much Laser Ally has taken over in the GTA... they must have gotten big contracts here recently.

I believe ONLY the Local Police use LaserAlly.
The OPP use Laser Atlanta...the ruggedized Model that is all White colour.(No LaserAlly for OPP.)
Maybe some members from GTA w/ see these posts & tell us more.

Welcome to the forum. Great discussion in this thread. Last week the rules in the laser jammer industry changed. What was once doctrine is now different. If the Laser Ally is in your area, you must have at least two heads at each end of your vehicle minimum. Three heads are better than two. If you don't have the laser ally in your area, two heads are sufficient.
