Wife was a good girl and conspired w Tom. Looks like I have an alp quad, Bluetooth, and stir+ to install on the VBuss (Volvo XC70) and then stick the LI Quad and Redline in the Ram for her.
I appreciate the resources here and the support from yourself, Tom.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a ticketless night.

Congrats! I told her I would not confirm with you that she had ordered it. If you have install questions let me know.

Must be nice!!!! My wife said she was too afraid to try it since she didnt know what to get. I told her Paul and Tom would help her out.. :-(

I do like my tablet she got me though...

I am looking to order the ALs soon.

Does anyone know the best way to install the sensors on a 2013 ford escape ?

We reached a solution for placememt but I am just real nervous about installing them.

The interface and runnimg wires and all shouldnt be a problem.... I am thinkimg about runnimg wires through stirring wheel grommett.

Any advice offered would be much appreciated......

I agree! But I have to get on it and install it this weekend because after the pacemaker installation it will be several weeks or more before I can get back into the swing of things :(

Just order my rear sensor. Going to gamble on getting just one. Back of BMW is not a large target, so I "believe" a single sensor dead center of the rear will be better than nothing at all. Testing of course will tell. :)

GASpeed, you up for some testing in a couple of weeks? I will come to you. :)

One sensor will not offer appropriate protection.

See test results.

you will need two. No question about it. You might as well do it right the first time.

yep gotta agree there, if a jobs worth doing, do it right first time , you can fit and forget, unless ur on a tight budget

I am well aware that a single sensor is not "good enough", but for right now it is better than nothing at all. Plus, I am curious just for fun to see how good it is after testing. I am certain there will be PT.

My wife is not very fond of this hobby, so I have to buy parts in waves, as to not draw too much attention. ;)

In the single head rear test in your blog, the ALP actually performed pretty well, considering the size of the tail end of the test car and the pearl white color.

My BMW rear is pretty low profile and black in color. It will be interesting to see a test. I am willing to be guinea pig for everyone else's benefit. :)

You have rather large and reflective tail lights. IMO one jammer head will give you a false sense of security.

I don't disagree. Fortunately I am really not too much a speeder and between Waze and EscortLive, I would say 98% of the time I see the cops in my area before I am surprised by them. No doubt I will eventually get 2 for the rear, could only purchase 1 right now due to funds... One will still give me more protection than I have now. :)

What a awesome gift Paul. I want to be there for the testing if I can. 1 day I may be able to afford a ALP which is much needed now that I am in Gwinnett

Good to hear you're back!
I can't wait to install and test but unfortunately my heart has other speedbumps in front of it.
Going back to cardio today again and may have a pacemaker to add to the spinal cord stimulator shortly. Ill be the bionic speeder soon!
If they don't throw my ass in the hospital this afternoon I will try again tomorrow to install it.

Priorities!
My wife knows that problems are related to inactivity and driving, at least for me, is FaR from an idle activity. She doesn't have the least concern about me being too relaxed behind the wheel!
LI and ALP just help keep the heart rate UP. Maybe I can get them covered on my health insurance reimbursement.

Installation in the rear of a convertible is proving to be a challenge.
BRD, I need about 3 feet of extension. Where can I Order?

Will order the cable today. Bad news is, I will have to unassemble everything I already did all the way back to the sensor, since the extension is between the existing cables, not added to the end.

The trunk lid on a convertible BMW hinges both ways so you can use as a trunk AND so that the hard top can recess into the trunk area. I will upload a video later on how to overcome this obstacle. Seems no matter how hard I planned, I still came up short do to the complex running of the wire. Badnews is I had also already used the shrink tube at the original cable joint. Will have to undo a lot I've already done. Sigh....

You can do a nice spiral lapping of quality black electrical to replace the heat-shrink tubing you've already used.Carefully done it will be just as waterproof as before.I never used the O.E.M. stuff AL provided & used the method stated here instead.

Yeah, I used to do that back in my days as an audio installer for Circuit City. The real Pain in the ass is going to be cutting/stripping the heat shrink off. I also have to take several parts of the car apart AGAIN.... Argh!!!

Where are you short? The extension cables attach to the end of the regular cables in between the long cord and the small cord from the head. If you ran the wire from the CPU to the trunk area you will just add the additional length in the trunk area.

Started at trunk, moving towards CPU
