with the flurry of school holidays and the police out in force and double demerits, i thought this section would be a flurry of activity?
i guess everyone is gearing up for christmas (only 5 days to go) so getting ready for family and friends. (smiles)

Yup, pretty quiet at the moment.

Double demerits in place now 'til the New Year here, so that'll probably mean plenty of Poliscan's hidden behind bus stops and bushes. Saying that, WAPOL are out on the hunt for drop kicks that text whilst driving, so that will be welcome :)

Will be picking up my ALP modules next week to play with.

This forum is in it's early growing stage (barely 2 months) and already has acquired a decent number of high quality members. The OZ crew is a huge plus here. I believe the most appropriate metaphor would be that of a snowball rolling downhill wrt membership and activity. We've made the ball and it's beginning to roll. :eagerness:

ALP 5 head has been installed since mid-July, but I wasn't brave enough to do it myself :)

I've just installed the Bluetooth and Radar/GPS modules myselff today (the installer had tucked the CPU away, well under the dashboard.

A great system - better than the HP-905's I haved owned, and better than the LI quad I still have on my other car

ALP 5 head has been installed since mid-July, i always wondered why 5 & 6 head CPU's weren't available from anyone it is great to see a manufacturer listening to consumers

max

It seems that in the future some manufacturers will even come up with a system that contains 8 heads...

TrueBlue
01-03-2014, 05:46 PM
i think there is some sort of limiting factor with power to the cpu's considering many members have requested more ports and LI hasn't come up with more than 4 yet.
the alp is a step in the right direction by having 5 although for people who encounter the poliscan in WA 6 would be better.
besides the aussie activity it is excellent to see the alp listening to people using this equipment, that is why i joined here.

yep very true indeed, unless you wander into WA territory :) thought about this for a while, if you lived in WA, moved to the ban states , being all innocent and not knowing, got pulled in say NSW, would be interesting :D

Hi all,

I am a brand new member to this forum. I was looking at the AL Priority Laser System. Does anyone know if it is successful when encountering the Vitronic Poliscan Speed cameras? These are (or as it seems) to be the primary laser system used in Western Australia. Knowing it is successful is key to my purchase decision for the ALP 4 Head Unit.

Thank you in advance
Chris

The legacy Model "G9" from AL was very effective against it.The "Priority" should do even better b/c of improved Algo's & higher output of IR energy in Photon level. Most important of any criteria is the proper placement angles of the Sensors to give you the best possible defense.
The most experienced members to seek advice from are your fellow mates in Oz.They have been dealing w/ this nemesis for years & have developed the best layout to position the Sensors for excellent protection.

Thanks winterbrew for the welcome. I will be dropping back into see Tim on my days off. I need my radar detector serviced too! Today was the last straw with a VPS setup on Plain Street East Perth. There is no signage for speed on Plain Street heading to Riverside Drive and they had one setup at 0550 yesterday morning. I never looked at my GPS as I know my way in Perth as I work there but it had the speed posted at 50 when I did glance after the event. I was doing 63, thinking the limit was 60 as it is residential/commercial. Sigh. I think I have just added to the revenue machine. I think it is unfair having cameras on a street that has no signage to prompt you to drive to the posted limit.

Cheers
Chris
