They use all , except X.
Dont drive with a rd that is not bullet-proof against RDD !
Fine is $ 650 and seizure.
but Us resident can claim back their rd ....after paying the fine .
Even with a stealth rd , they can grab you with brake check/behavior .

Some cop know about jammers ....Jtk is a must.

New member here in Edmonton, so are those the only two Ka bands used in AB? Just got the Redline and haven't had time to check out the local bands, so if I can set it and forget it to just those two right away that would be great! Thanks!

This is true and confimed by Hwybear, an OPP officer who once stated on a different forum:

"One ticket for each device. It would actually then only be 3 demerit points. When tickets with points are wrote at the SAME DATE and SAME TIME the infraction with the highest points is used, no demerit points are assessed for the second or third offence."

Yes Alberta only uses 34.7 and 35.5 for Ka band. Since you live in Edmonton as long as you stay in the city limits you could run only 34.7 on the redline as EPS only uses that (including photo radar). If you plan on going outside the city limits make sure you turn on k band and 35.5 Ka band

To add, photo enforcement is not used on provincial highways. Just city's, towns municipalities.

Update: I have been running bands 2-9 on just while I get a feel for the local guns and whether or not they are out of tune. Well I can confirm after two encounters that 33.752 is in use by AB Sheriff's and possibly RCMP. I had one kit here in St. Albert that I couldn't find the source of (but it is only RCMP here) and one IO hit from a Sheriff's car today on 33.752 in a speed trap. So band 2 needs to be on in AB!

That is possible for sure. Like I said, I couldn't find the source here. However the Sheriff one up on 28A just outside the base was 100% confirmed.

Do you mean to seizure the vehicle? I thought as jammers are installed units, they don't really just tear the heads off from you car, eh?

wow lots of great info.....hey guys just bought a rd and just joined this forum. just got a few tickets recently and decided to buy a rd. did a little bit of homework and found out that there are only a couple rd that are undetectable so I bought a redline. think its an older model. is this a wise choice? and I heard there is a new firmware for this rd. can anyone tell me how to get this new firmware? thx

I think it was almost 2 yrs ago that Escort Radar finally gave the Redline a shot in the arm w/ this new f/w (it's free) that made it the King of W/S mount RDs !
