This is my first time (posting here) and I am happy to enter the forum! There was a puff of white smoke, and it wasn’t a cooked diode, but it was the mods welcoming me. Thanks much!

My CM days started with the original Fuzzbuster, moved through the first K40 detector, various Escorts and Bels and on up to my new R1. I still use my original K40 CB antenna, though the Motorola Mocat CB is was hooked to has given up the ghost. Anyone have a lead on a replacement powered mic? Yup, I’ve been around that long!

I became involved with Blinder over 15 years ago. My currently installed M-27 is going away because happily my first ALP is inbound. Two Rx and a Tx for each end.

I look forward to getting installation guidance, sharing my experiences, and just being a part of the community. I know which end of a soldering iron to not grab hold of (having wired two radio stations during my engineering life) and think I’ll pull my weight around here.

Glad to be aboard!

Yeah, w/ that background of yours you'll fit right in here.
Be sure to check out the "Members Install Threads" here for some ideas on mounting location ideas for your vehicle.

Thanks RedRocket for your welcome and your guidance. I will definitely check out the member install threads.

Right now I have a good handle on my front end head placement, and the rear pretty much laid out itself. The only big challenge I have is getting the cables from the trunk area of my SLK through the bulkhead separating it from the passenger compartment. Benz buttons those things up tight.
