I have an issue that I can't figure out. On my motorcycle I run the ALP using the Bluetooth module to my phone as well as connecting the phone to my Scala intercom also via Bluetooth. It works great integrating radar & laser into my helmet speakers. I charge the phone from the bike as I go but the battery runs down despite the charge. It's worse in colder weather but even on a nice day the phone runs down over the length of the ride.
I'm guessing running the screen, 2 BTs , ALP with GPS is just too much draw on the battery?

I agree with your diagnostic , i run only waze on my xiaomi note 4 and the charge from the car barely holds it at the initial level.
I think manufacturers fear for overcharging/explosion so they restrain the charging amperage ...?
Dimming the screen surely help.

I never considered that but that's a good idea as I keep the alp app on screen for quick shut down
Thx

Soo .... I tried a Retrak battery and it was able to bring the charge from 80 to 100 while I doing a 4 hr ride! It exhausted the external battery which is supposed to be able to charge the IPhone 2 x

Sounds like you need a better charger. Is your charger a a 2A or better charger?

The socket on the bike is fused for 3 amps and the plug thingy output says 5 VDC 2.4 A

Cables can kill charging amperage. I use an app called Ampere to compare two cables...one have me 460ma another gave me 720ma.
