I am pretty use you are alone on this one. I love the way its programmed and I can update firmware using my PC, Tablet or anything with internet and USB. Not many people have laptops and it would be crazy to require a laptop to update the unit. Just my opinion.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

Tom, they are still in LI mindset. They are still to learn the ways of the ALP.
It's easy to turn it into detection only or green mode via the connect app.
I often switch to detection only in known speed traps. No point in jamming when not speeding.

Cadillac Cue system can run apps also but it would be too much money in engineering time for all of these different units that run apps. It would be cool but there are not enough Jammer users on these small platforms for it to make sense.

Well, I have 4 or 5 and everybody I know has at least one. Perhaps this works in his favor.

If we are splitting hairs and making a wish list: I wish the volume was louder on ALP Connect.

I had it running through my car's speakers. I can turn up the volume in the setup, on my itouch, and car stereo, but then my music is too loud. I have to turn the volume, way up, in order for ALP Connect to be heard over the engine noise -- think 10 cylinders w/8500 redline.

Some of us have loud cars, so I have resorted to connecting to my Bluetooth headset.

The reality is, I can just connect to my headset.

So far, I've been impressed with the rate of development with this product! I really can't complain too much!

4 Doors, 10 cylinders, 8500 redline, three pedals, and 206 mph club, plus F/R Black Box G1W-H, RedLine and ALP

A lot of people use after market head units in their cars, if you look at app radio's supported apps, Escort live is one of them.
My only other option is to wait for the android version and run that on my Raspberry Pi and plug that into my head unit.

Yes, But how many of these people are also ALP users? 10? There would have to be thousands of users to make it make sense.

Are you utilizing the Radio Mute wire the ALP supplies? You could just have your music auto muted when an alert comes in?
