    ALP GPS Antenna's

We will receive samples next week to test the new ALP GPS antennas. Originally AntiLaser wanted to use a generic GPS antenna's but there were so many differences with these aftermarket antennas and they were wired differently that they did not feel comfortable with using them. To prevent damage to the Radar/GPS Module they decided to go the route of distributing their own GPS Antenna. They will not be expensive and should retail for around $59.95. I will have more information next week.

With using GPS there are 3 settings to adjust on the ALP Setup site:

    1. Laser Interference Defense mechanism will not be activated unless you are moving at the speed greater then what you define.
    2. Radar detection will not be activated unless you are moving at the speed greater then what you define
    3. Parking alerts will not be given if vehicle is driving at speed above what you define

You can define different speeds for each of these processes when setting up your ALP on the ALP Setup site: http://www.alpupdate.com

Thats great news for me ! Horray! I'm huge fan of GPS & Radar module and have stop using radar plug in till GPS antenna arrives then I can test her features out and see how the false alerts are like as when I plugged it in last time lots interferences, I hope the next objective I hope by antilaser is block out or Signal Rejection or Interference Lock,

Its in my belief where there's a wont there is a way,

Thanks keep up this good work!

So let me see if I understand correctly. By adding the gps do I need something else to give me alerts. In other words the GPS is only the antenna so to speak and I need other hardware to pick up the alerts?

Of course you need an AL Priority System, A GPS antenna is just an antenna and will not do anything on its own.

Specifications on these new GPS antennas have a 6M length. I feel that the cable is too long and should be shorter. What do you think the max length anyone would need with one of these GPS antennas? Where do you guys think you will mount them? I guess they are making them long enough so that if someone wants to mount one on the the rear deck its long enough but I would mount mine on the dash which would leave over 10FT of extra cable under the dash. Any thoughts on this?
