    Check your speeding infringement is valid (WA and other states with Poliscan camera)

    Before you pay your infringement (particularly in WA), check that the infringement is valid, in accordance with the speed camera manufacturers (Vitronic) guidleines ;

    http://www.policespeedcameras.info/i...until-now.html

    From Vitronic ;

    Reject the photo as an evidence, if

    - neither a front wheel (in case of front measurement) nor the license plate are at
    least in part visible within the template,
    respectively

    - neither a rear wheel (in case of rear measurement) nor the license plate are at
    least in part visible within the template,

    or

    - other road users travelling on the same lane or an adjacent lane are visible
    within the template,

    or

    - the lower edge of the template frame is not beneath the wheels.

    The Box is Viewable in this photo and its within the requirements. My only complaint is that I cant see my plate in any photo except an enhanced closeup.

    Name:  Poliscan-Photo.jpg

    Closeup Photo that shows the plate number:

    Name:  Poliscan Enhansed.jpg

    In either case since there are no points and the fine is low I have paid it and moved on but I will be on the lookout for them in the future.

    Thanks for that plate close up BRD. I think that that white line is the one mentioned here ;

    Additionally, the graphical template includes an auxiliary line which corresponds with a scale of 0.5m. It's vertical position visualises the sampling level.
    So basically, that point on the car is where the Poliscan took it's readings from, which is why sometimes if the sensors are above the license plate on a parking sensor equipped car, you might get a failure to detect as the beam diameter is very narrow at this point. Thats why you need the max sensitivity proivided by the ALP over the LI etc.

    So was travelling last night over the Gateway bridge in Brissie to go see John Farnham and Lionel Richie. Great concert by the way and I got hit by Poliscan and the speed noted on the alert was 93 km/h. Is this the speed the AL9 detected the Poliscan before I had a chance to brake and slow down or does it mean I've been detected at that speed by the Poliscan and therefore will get a ticket.
    On the way home around Logan with night road works, out of the blue came Safety Camera or something like that. Is that used by the Police to see if your speeding through road works or is it just a monitoring device?
    Thanks for your help
