Got mine installed today. Took less than 10 minutes...Literally....

A couple of things to remember so that the process is smooth:
    * Make sure to have the most recent Apple App update
    * Make sure to have the most recent firmware update
I had updated my firmware Dec 6th, but another appears to have been released on the 7th. This kept the app from syncing with the Bluetooth.
Once I updated my firmware, works like a charm!!

A couple of things to consider about the phone integration, that I don't think have been emphasized, that are really making me love my decision to go with ALP over other brands:
    * Phone integration = Stealth. Since you don't need the control pad anymore, there is nothing to see inside the car for prying eyes (thieves or LEO)
    * Phone integration = Easy Install. With the ability to install everything in the engine compartment, this will help some installers that are not comfortable with running wires through the firewall.
    * Phone integration = Faster Install. Even if you still install the CPU under the dash, not having to install the Control pad creates flexibility on where you want to install the CPU, as well as no planning or time taken to install the control pad.

I LOVE the easy access on the phone. I highly recommend installing the LED that comes with the original unit, as the lighting indicator is helpful to let you know that updates are taking place and that the unit is powered up.
I plan to purchase an external speaker that I can plug into the jack on my iPhone, so that I can hear the alerts over my radio. While my BMW allows me to connect via speaker outlet of my iPhone into the AUX of the factory radio, it reduces other flexibility/features such as the built in handsfree bluetooth or listening to Satellite radio.

I plan to run Waze in the foreground, and Escort Live and ALPConnect in the background. I think the right external speaker will make it all complete. Well, plus the Stir+ head in the near future

I highly recommend the Bluetooth integration for those with an iPhone already.

Great glad you got it working. I have been using it for a week for so now and I have already submitted several improvement requests to make the next release even better.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

Just received blue tooth and radar modules. After installing I have a few issues. I already have my iphone blue toothed to my head unit which works perfectly, however once the bt module connects to the alp connect app I get initial sound output from the iPhone speaker before it tries to switch the audio to the bluetooth via the car speakers. Unfortunately it fails to output any sound despite having other apps on my iphone capable of running through the car speakers. The only way to get audio from alp connect via the iPhone is to delete the bt connect for phone calls. This kinda defeats the purpose. I am wondering is there plans to resolve this ? It should be possible and would make it so much better.

I have already mailed the alp guys to see if they can help resolve.

I dont want to list all my requested updates in case they cant implement all of them but AntiLaser monitors this forum and if you can think of things they can improve, post your own recommendations and they will be heard. We will also create own own alert sounds and will most likely put up a poll with different sounds and let the users decide the alternate alert sound which will be selectable in a future update.

It could also be a limitation with your phone or carrier with not having 2 Bluetooth connections at the same time.

Thanks for the tip. I had already been into the notification settings and this did not help. I have an iPhone 4S and wonder if the iPhone 5 /s would help resolve that ? It must be possible though as I have a fixed camera system warning me via bluetooth from the phone over the car speakers

I have spoken with alp support team this morning and they are going to look into the issue of Connectivity. I'm sure this will be resolved shortly.
